The thing about modern UFC is that its a lot harder to successfully defend the title now. A lot of the new guys can't even get 3+ title wins. I also believe that for some divisions (MW and LHW), competition isnt as good as it used to be.

Wdym competition is way better than it used to be LHW actually has real dangerous powerful LHW not those bloated middleweights in 2010. Only thing that made LHW good years ago were Jones, DC and Gus. But that’s all they had and now we have way more good LHW. Middleweight also has Strickland, Du Plessis, Adyssbya, Khamzat, Whittaker, and a bunch of up and coming prospects.
