I wouldn't know, but my first thought is that it's some sort of "proof" of pre-surgery. Like having a picture of your car pre-wreck, or a picture of a lawn/plot pre-contract. If something goes wrong, your insurance company has proof that it was the surgeon's fault. I don't quite like the idea either since I can barely be shirtless on my own as is, but taking pictures?? eughh.

I work for an insurance company I work in claims I can see the referrals and the bills that come in. There are no pictures attached to any of the claims or the referral. We only see the codes billed and what yeh procedure is to make sure it’s all covered.

Does pre-existing scaring effect the result or ability to perform surgery? Not large, deep scars, just surface scaring from tapes or binders.

Most likely a comprehensive cancer scan, as that's usually an indication of cancer. Just as a dermatologist would do a comprehensive cancer scan if they find a weirdly coloured spot on your skin.

Is there a specific doctor who can diagnose gender dysphoria? Not like the name, but like psychologist, family doctor, etc. I live in Canada so it might be different but I haven't figured that out still and no one that I've gone to has the authority or access/ permission? to diagnose it for me.

This for the Netherlands, but it's the same in other countries that I've friends in so Canada is likely not that much different. Go see your family doctor (general practitioner, primary care doctor, whatever it's called). He or she can then either get you a referral to a specialist or tell you where to go instead (maybe in Canada it's a mental health professional needing to refer you for example). Prepare yourself for very long waiting lists for those specialists.

You don’t need a blood drawn?? Will you need a blood drawn before surgery

Probably in general just to check your health before surgery.

Probably not at that initial meeting as the blood work needs to be pretty current before the actual surgery and that date she said usually can't be scheduled yet during the initial meeting. So it'll probably be similar to what happens with my diabetes screening tests: I get a list of tests for the lab during the visit and told to get those tests done a week before the next visit.
