@waltertav4 жыл бұрын
Had exactly the same thing, the Strat sounded a little more vintage to me, while the Tele is supposed to be the older model. Oh if I had to choose I would find it a really hard task... (I have a Gretsch Streamliner G2420T, which I am perfectly happy with at the moment)

I bought the Mustang p90.... The p90 is amazing... So hot the sound... It's really the nice mix of single coil and humbucker with the strengths of the two worlds... If you play with overdrive or with not too high gain are the best.... If you listen to them, you fall in love

I did get it correct. I’m trying to figure out why the telecaster sounds best. Is there something uniquely different about the electrical components in the telecaster? The mustang actually sounded poor except for the “dirt”.

I got them right ! :) I like the Mustangs body actually the most it looks really elegant to me,i got a Bullet Mustang but put a alnico single coil in the neck position,the middle position sounds so good now clean.I like when guitars have have very different tones that you can also combine. Tele has still the best bridge sound though of the three imo. Greetings to the Dog !

Another great video Landon, thanks. I've got me a nice 3 piece ash T style body and other hardware ready for my own build but can't afford a decent neck to finish it. Seeing those two necks just propped up on the windowsill behind you has started to trigger me.. Edit: It was good to hear 'Sulk' being played - love that Radiohead.

This was great because I have been looking at these 3 guitars. I kept changing my mind on x and z but I knew y was the mustang. I don't own a player series but I have played them a lot. To answer your question about the player series vs the old discontinued standard series I prefer the new player series more. I used to own a mim standard strat and the pickups were not that good. And I like the neck a lot more on the player series. I was bummed they raised the price by about 100 dollars but after I played one it sounds better and feels way better. Probably the best neck of any guitar I have ever played from cheap knock offs to multi thousand dollar strats and Les Paul's. Also sweet playstation shirt. I am looking forward to the remastered Tony Hawk games that are supposed to come out next month. But anyway I am rambling now so I am just going to post.

Thanks for that. Keep up the good work! No chance to checkout a player series guitar yet no shops around here. Do have a 2012 mim strat that is so fine don't really have any player fomo (fear of missing out). Don't have a tele but do have a 2020 Squier bullet mustang that has me asking if I really need a player mustang because the bullet is so good. Really like the 12 inch radius fingerboard on the bullet. Put Gotoh locking tuners on it that were almost half the price of the guitar. Never gonna sell it and I just like locking tuners so it's not a problem. Put Fender locking tuners on the mim strat to make changing strings easier, wired the bridge for tone control and installed an Orange Drop 716P .001 µF w/ 150 kΩ Metal Film Resistor treble bleed. Feel no need to change the pickups since I like the sound of the stock ceramics.

The Locking Tuners would be a lot more useful on the Strat being that it has a Trem-system. Just saying...😁
@Steven_SK4 жыл бұрын
I like locking tuners for the ease of string changing no matter the guitar. I really saw no difference on my Strat tuning stability wise changing to locking.
@shaunw92704 жыл бұрын
@@Steven_SK Same here , one of mine is vintage style ,the other is locking vintage (Gotoh DL91?) . If anything I seem to break strings quicker on the Strat with lockers ,which is a pain.
@shaunw92704 жыл бұрын
I think it's a common misconception , that I shared also, before actually owning a Strat with locking tuners. In my experience ,if you have a USA or Mexican Strat with tuning issues , it's normally friction at the nut . Easily remedied with pencil graphite or dry soap.

1X Tele 2Y Mustang 3Z Strat ... this is halfway through the clean tones. Let's see. EDIT: Yay. I prefer them in that order. In terms of looks and colour, I prefer the Mustang. Got the answers right, the Mustang just sounds so bland and uninspiring compared to a Tele or strat, really easy to figure out the mustang. Between the Tele and strat, the Tele is a slightly fuller bodied tone so I could tell that was the first one. But both the tele and strat have that typical fender magic tone so both are great!

Some tips you already know; the "real estate" behind the bridge you don't care for is meant to house the vibrato arm on the fuller equipped Mustang. Also, if Fender moved the bridge back, the guitar arm positions would be cumbersome. Roll the guitar volume to '7' and bump up the amp volume for cleaner sounds. Your hitting the front of the amp too hard. Also, lowering the pickups will do the same. Your 'dirty' description is easy to correct. The vibrato version with single coils is much more versatile. The Mustang is a formidable guitar for many musicians. Also regarding the strat, every guitar requiers e.q. tweeks for accurate sound. A strat is naturally sweeter and more musical for several reasons. Roll down the mids and slightly bump up the treble. BTW, demo/comparing in the middle position is completely incorrect since your only using one pickup compared to two in the others. All my strats have a mini toggle to operate the bridge and neck for tele sounds. Just needed to be stated for beginning guitarists. Thanks!
