All fell to freelined maggot and caster

Just to add my 2 pence worth, it really does depend on where you live in the country, I grew up in Lincoln and there was free fishing everywhere, when I moved to Salisbury, it was a bit of a shock to find out there wasn't a single lake or stretch of river within 10 miles that wasn't either ran by mainly syndicates or local clubs.

Not sure who's in the right here but non the less I've given up reasoning so just ignore him till he gives up What's your take on this?
@fishwithcarl2 жыл бұрын
Yes it's hard, as technically no one can own the actual river, just the land to the edge of it. If your mate has land backing onto it, then it technically you could fish it as the land is owned by him. Wonder if this helps: www.land-search-online.co.uk/information/fishing-rights-on-rivers/

It was about 3.5 feet wide, generally only a few inches deep with the odd pool 2-2.5 foot deep. I stopped to eat a sandwich and out of curiosity I rolled some pellets out of the bread and chucked one into one of the pools. I was gobsmacked when a 4-5 inch brown trout shot out from its hiding place (polarised sunglasses are wonderful things) and snaffled the bread. I tried another 4 pools with the same results. It was great to see.

In Finland we often fish like this in the swampy areas where the natural springs come together to form tiny streams. The tiny streams can often be more than 3 meters deep though! Using just a rod a without reel, and the rig consisting out of a single hook and a single split shot to get the worm down. But the fish in there.. small but stronger than anything else in their size, grayling, trout, perch , pike. All under 50 centimeters and won't grow larger, but spending their whole life fighting the current gets them BUFF.
