I know Frankfurt and Dusseldorf are on the NFL's shortlist, but Munich should be the favourite to get awarded the German International game from 2022/23. Surprised that Berlin wasn't considered, but having been to the Olympiastadion, the running track around the pitch does mean the view from the Upper Tiers can feel like you're miles away compared to when I watched Bears v Raiders at Tottenham's ground in 2019. Having worked at Anfield & Old Trafford (used to do radio work covering another Premier League team), if the league were looking to add a Northern UK venue, the former should be the clear favourite. The upgrades to the main stand and the stadium facilities as a whole should make it more appealing for the likes of Goodell wanting swanky VIP boxes, plus its more suited for modern needs of visiting media personnel etc. Whereas the Glazers have left the OT infrastructure to deteriorate - it's not quite reached Oakland Coliseum levels of disrepair, but it's not far off with leaking roofs in some parts and the worst press box I have ever worked in!

A couple of things: First, if the NFL were to play at the MCG, they'd want the game shown live in the US. If the game were a 7 pm Sunday local start, that's 3 am Eastern US time. If the game was a 12 noon Sunday local start, it would be a 8 pm Eastern US kickoff Saturday. By law and by custom the NFL doesn't play Saturday games until December so a game in Australia may not work. Second, most of the European stadiums on the list aren't designed for American football. For example, the locker rooms are each designed for about 23 people who are about 5'9" 180 lbs.. NFL teams dress 53 people who are around 6'2" 220 or more on average so they would need to redo the locker room areas or build new ones. This is why they play at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. It was specifically designed to host NFL games. You'd also need to block off seats in the lower bowl because people wouldn't be able to see over the sideline. Third, NFL games do a number on grass fields. This is another reason the NFL plays the London games at Spurs. They remove the soccer pitch and play the game on the turf field under it. Teams may not want to have to host the NFL game then replace the turf right after the game.

For Melbourne, First Tuesday in November (Melbourne Cup Day) is a public holiday, so a Tuesday 11am kick-off for "Monday Night Football" (8pm US ET Monday) would work perfect. Then give both teams the bye the following week. Plus the locker/changeroom areas at the MCG are quite large, and could easily accomodate temproary lockers for a 53 player squad.

Give this a thought: the NFL running a contest for high schools in NFL markets to host a regular season game. Necessary upgrades at no cost to the school. High Schools out side an NFL market could be done, too.

The NFL market in Spain is growing every year. Barcelona is the host of the Barcelona Dragons, former NFL Europe team and now part of the European League of Football. As of today, Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid is getting a renovation. Real Madrid's president plants to bring the NFL to Madrid once the renovations are done. Spain will be an ideal location for a NFL season game due to the nice weather we have during the autumn

I don't know why there has been no games played in Germany in decades. Until recently they were the 3rd biggest market (now Mexico) behind Canada for American football. Hell, not until last year that I found Austria has a amateur American football league. And now there is the ELF (European League of Football) founded last year consisting of teams from 5 countries. They even have an agreement with the NFL to use team names from the old NFL Europe. Frankfurt, Cologne, Berlin, and Barcelona will be able to use their original NFL Europe team names again. Central Europe is ready and prime for an NFL expansion team. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_League_of_Football

That's the point. Germany has the most Amiercan Fooball fans in Europe. Germany has the strongest football leagues GFL1/GFL2 (with the Austrians and their AFL) and with the strongest teams. Germany has the EFL with a clear dominance. (Dusseldorf Rhine Fire is also back) Dusseldorf is just like Frankfurt and Munich in the round for an NFL game. Germany should clearly be the first/next in Europe to get an NFL game. Football is growing fast (also in the youth) and the potential is definitely there.

I want Anfield to host an outdoor hockey game. The park next Anfield is called Stanley Park, named after that Stanley

Croke Park would suit the league if it was ever to come to Ireland. We already have the NCAA every year.

Yea but getting the G.A.A to agree to foreign sports is not easy shall we say plus the sad thing is the NFL wouldn't let Hill 16 be used for fans

It’s kinda funny how the gophers stadium got a nfl game before the Michigan stadium. Also Allianz field in Minnesota is like a mini version of the big one in Germany. It has hosted d3 college football between st Thomas (now d1) and St. John’s.

I’d like to see a game in Scotland like either Hamden park or murrayfield which has nearly 70,000 seats and it’s in Scotland’s capital city and regularly hosts large scale rugby games

The problem with the mcg is like the dual purpose stadiums problem. The circular layout of the stadium makes watching most rectangular field sports terrible viewing as a spectator. It would be an event that many aus nfl fans would go for but the Sydney Olympic stadium would be a better fit even having hosted college football games

One BIG problem with Anfield, Old Trafford and the Nou Camp is that their playing surfaces aren't big enough as American football needs a longer surface than football to be played on

@@banjoplayingbison2275 AFL had hosted exhibition games in North America before but the field dimensions look so weird. I don't think a stadium in North America could fit in a proper footy oval.

Hampden Park, Glasgow or Murrayfield, Edinburgh. They host the Scottish national football and rugby teams and hampden had the Scottish claymores in NFL Europe. Both could easily hold games and like you say, the NFL need to address more than just London at this side of the pond.

The NFL playing games in Australia would be an excellent idea. Who knows it may lead to the AFL (Aussie Rules Football) playing a few games on US soil to reciprocate. I know for the past two years, the AFL has had its games shown on FS1 in order to grow the US audience for the sport. As for the Premier League playing league games in the US as mentioned briefly in the video, that idea isn't far off from becoming reality in the next few years because of the large fan base in the US and many clubs mainly the big ones wanting to keep the momentum going in terms gaining new fans.

I wouldn't assume an American Football field could fit in all of these Soccer stadiums, especially the older ones. When White Hart Lane hosted the London Monarchs of the World League/ NFL Europe, they had to play on a 93 yard yard field (+ dangerously cramped end zones). Anfield's playing surface is only 29 inches longer than White Hart Lane's and certainly couldn't fit a full 120 yard field. (New Wembley was designed to fit American Football and Allianz probably was as well. But the old ones wouldn't have considered that.)
