BEARING REINS ARE EVIL CRUEL AND HORRIBLE FOR THE HORSES. military people like to see their soldiers heads up, but it’s another thing to tie them to a board to keep them up. It’s one thing for a horse to hold their head up high, but its another for it to be held there.

Agree. I get you don’t want a horse suddenly putting their head to the ground but equally if a horse stumbles he can’t use his head to recover. All the overhead check is doing is destabilising the horses natural frame and ability to use their body as nature intended. This is a man made contraption to suit man’s purpose without thought to the long term damage to the horses back and mouth.
