Sorry, but that only applies to certain 'preferred' nations. Others, like those coming from Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa are treated so much different than the 'preferred' foreigners, or as they like to call themselves 'expats': you know like the English, the French, the super exotic Australians, the other super exotic Asians and Latin or South Americans, or if you come from the USA, then Germans look at you like a piece of candy. If you tell them you come from Bulgaria, from example, they would smirk and ask why aren't you speaking perfect German already (cuz u know...Eastern Europeans are just here as Gastarbeiter, not the privileged 'expats')...so yeah, but no, SORRY, my 10-year experience in the very 'tolerant' Berlin has been totally different...

I am right now in some foreign country. And I did notice, that in this I‘m really german 😂😂😂I wait respectful in the bakery. Every time, people go in front of me, so annoying, because you have to fight for your right to get the bred and I get very angry, while the other people stay very cool. In Germany you would get killed by this action! My nongerman husband was doing this also once in some petrol station, driving in front all the other cars, they were all waiting. One man got out of the car and I thought „Oh my god, we will not survive this action.“ And what happened? 😁The man asked so politely, if he can help us, was speaking very nice talk with my husband about 5 minutes and invited us in the end even to his family! In Germany by doing this people would kill you. 🙄Here people kiss you. So in this case, I really love the people here, that they are not so german. Only, when I want to buy a bred in the bakery, I wish the people to become german. 😜

After having lived for 4 years in the US I learned to appreciate some German traits. What comes to mind is efficiency, being detail oriented, having a long attention span, being direct and mostly honest, and - very surprising for me - compared to the US the relation to your superior is much more on an equal footing (okay not everywhere), despite calling your boss by their firstname in the US, work life balance, time for your family Politically, trying to find a balance between economic growth, workers rights, social security and sustainability (trying is the word here). On a material level, certainly bread (in all variations), beer, engineering of course, Sahnetorte (cream cake), Wurst (sausages as well as cold cuts); plumbing, online-banking, ... Examples of what we still have to learn: seeing the good things (we are perfect in looking for "das Haar in der Suppe", finding fault in everything); sometimes letting go of safety in favor of taking risks

According to the people interviewed in this video, I believe what I got out of it is that Germans are as polite ad modest as they can be while being so honest. I like how they think and then give concrete answers, and I love how some of them show how much introspection they do even while thinking profoundly. I'm sure Germany has problems just like other countries have challenges of various severity, but I admire how many of them are honest and open about what they think could be better about Germany. Many from other countries are taught to be proud of their country but don't really know what there is to be proud or not so proud about their own country. Last but not least: one other thing I think Germans are really good at: making complicated, super long sentences and words!

My sister lives in Munich and, although I've never lived there, I've visited Germany multiple times. Germans do many things very well. The towns are clean, safe, and well run. People are polite and civilized. Food is delicious and the beer is out-of-this-world. The women are so good-looking! My sister enjoys a high quality of life over there - she says that social services are comprehensive and stress-free to deal with. And all this without mentioning German achievements in science, medicine, engineering, commerce, and the arts. It's a fine country. p.s. John Kampfner's book on Germany is excellent.

The two queues in traffic jams and autobahn are something good? It is only usefull for Audis and BMW that arrived to the queue after you to try to accelerate and overpass and be the first in the "fast row" making the whole thing to get worst. And people in the front of the slow queue ALLOW THEM to pass!

Good at queuing? Amazed that so many interviewees said that. Not in any of the baker's/butcher's/etc.shops that I've ever been in! And in supermarkets people offen try to push in. Bus stops are also a nightmare! The British are definitely better at it. Good: Sozialsystem/Krankensystem/Brot/Bier/Gründlichkeit/Zuverlässigkeit/Umweltbewusstsein 😃
