as a developer I'm lead to believe that the bug report priority system probably evaluated some of those bugs as too much effort to resolve for too little payoff whereas others were probably addressed because they were easy fixes or just cause they were located in classes that needed to be altered for other reasons.

Given you're taking a game that is already made, and is far cheaper to make again... the payoff is pretty big. Rushing a product which is less effort then a full game and worrying about not spending that extra money fixing things is a bit dumb when you are already saving tons of money.

Also important to note that the team working on the 3D world port probably also made bowser's fury, so most of their time fixing bugs was likely spent on that

2:26 & 2:48 Damn, the Mount Beanpole glitch and World Bowser glitch were genuine CLASSICS in 3D World on Wii U, they were great glitches you could make the -most- meow-st out of The Ice Speed glitch is un-patched though so I guess I can't be too mad

You're forgetting the ultimate reasons why a glitch may have been left in: A. They didn't know about it. B. They couldn't find the cause/a solution or C. they couldn't fix it without causing other major issues.

If you remember from the other video, the shell duping could lead to a hard crash and softlock of the game which is why they decided to get rid of it!

Oh yeah In 1-2 if you played with a friend (imagine having those lmao) and you duped the koopa shell and then threw your "friend" who was in the shell at the goal literally hard crashes the game, honestly wish they didn't patch because just like A+Start said any normal player wont find Shell duping on their own anyway so why patch it XD

2:20 Cat diving is still relevant. That's mostly due to combining with Peach's float to skip some parts of the level and its new funtionality. It's even more prominent than before, working like in Mario Maker 2 were you only lose momentum on the ground, no matter what action you used to get that speed on the first place. I guess they didn't care enough to fix it which is honestly a good thing overall.

This version introduced a couple new visual glitches. The lava trail that splorches leave disappears abruptly when there are too many patches instead of fading away and one of the clear pipes in Champion’s Road turns invisible when covered by the moving water block.

2 glitches that I found myself 1. Go into portrait mode in the overworld and place a sticker, hold on to the sticker and then exit out of portrait mode, the hand that appears in levels will appear in the overworld, it will even stay there after you lift your finger, mess around with this a bit. 2. You know that little time stop thing in bowser’s fury that happens when you defeat a boss, well if you spin jump right before it the little air circle thing around Mario will keep moving even though nothing else is.

There is a glitch in bowser fury in the rolling lava level if you collect the first cat shard last and if you collect it not from above and with a propeller box and the camera angle that makes Mario zoom in the animation does a weird glitch ( it may a long long time for you to do it correctly)

I feel that the infinite 1Up trick is more of an exploit of the scoring mechanic that has been around in all classic Marios since SMB on the NES.

Random weird thing: If you manage to get an invincibility bell into your inventory (by getting one from cat mario and cat peach) it I stantly turns into a regular bell.

The Mount Beanpole glitch technically hasn't been patched. The same glitch can be triggered in at least one other level (I forgot which one) and it still works on Switch. That means the glitch still exists in Mount Beanpole but the invisible wall prevents you from triggering it.

Nintendo Dev (probably): "Well, you see, it was much easier to fix the coding for this shell model dupe than most of the level collision glitches." So there's still a chance that a patch may be pushed out to fix a few more glitches which involves coding that doesn't break other things in the game... and a lot of QA testing.

There is a weird visual glitch in the final level that I never noticed before in the original game. It happens when you go to the clear pipe after the water section and just before the speed pad section. The end that you enter for the clear pipe becomes invisible when you are above it and the water passes over it. You can still enter the pipe though

Shell duplication most likely got removed because of that simple glitch that crashed the game, the invincible Toad glitch probably was patched 1. Because it made you invisible, 2. Possible because ending the level would crash since the sprite is gone The baddy box sfx glitch probably was patched due to the change on how the game handles sound effects in general, similarly the invisible item glitch was also patched possibly because the game handles models and animation better

I Know that running speed is increased but we have a trick called crouch boost it increases your speed by crouching and jumping without performing a long jump.

I dont know if its an old or new glitch but if you step on a dash panel and then groundpound or turn into a catstatue youre character will get the speed when he get up or turn back. This also works with that launching poles from bowsers fury.

Great video, but I think I disagree with the bit at the end. With the exception of that hammer bro thing, all of the glitches that got patched were ones that (at least in my headcanon) Nintendo thought did not make the game more fun (soft lock in the pipe, weird visual glitches, etc) but intentionally left in the more famous and enjoyable ones (cat momentum, ice crouching, toad snowball). I think Nintendo did good this time. They may have missed a few, but they did good.

@@IvanFranco120 A new tech was discovered in April that lets you get a ton of speed with the tanooki, referred to as “tanooki boost” and in June it was discovered that you could use that to your advantage with another technique called “crouch boosts” to gain a lot of speed and go around the death barrier. It’s significantly harder on Switch in comparison to the WiiU, but it’s possible.

The duplication glitch doesn't work with the invincibility bell. It just gives you the bell and puts the leaf in your inventory (with the bell, you can't use the leaf so if you take it out you can't use it and it turns into a regular leaf after the level)
