What do you mean by preaching Jesus? You probably don't know the meaning of what you just typed. Preaching Christ also means defending his words from errors as the Bible tells us to be ready to give an answer, defending the faith. There were doctrinal disputes in the bible, Paul openly corrected peter for his bias towards the Jews and teaching along that line. Paul and Barnabas also had disputes that made them seperate. Now I agree that some are just after the attention but there are some who aren't preaching for attention but they have that desire to correct that error lest it brings chaos in the body.

When he writes letters to Timothy in the churches of Ephesus he blatantly calls out Hymanaus and Alexander (Alexander twice) by names for their heresy. You preach repentance and baptism so that after hearing the message of hope, they can listen to you about repentance and baptism. You have to understand that we're the body of Christ, that's why God give different preachers different messages. There will always be believers who need to hear about hope, faith and love, those who have to hear about repentance, those who have to hear about God's miracles and wonders, those who have to hear about having a relationship with God, those who have to hear about building proper relationships and marriage, those who have to hear about the fear of God etc depending on the season one is at. You can't keep telling a believer about repentance or finance etc when he's at a season where he should be learning about leadership for example. That's why we have to learn to embrace different preachers so that we can grow holistically.
