I've had a Garmin Instinct for several years now and love the watch but I agree with your comments about the app...a little slow at times. I use mine mainly for running, CrossFit, and occasionally on a bike ride. Also keep up with my sleep/recovery on it. Absolutely love the battery life!

I wear a Garmin 6X sapphire all day everyday in the oilfield. After one year of abuse the only visible wear is a few scratches on the titanium band clasp. Dunked in chemicals, out in the weather, banged against equipment, it just keeps on chugging along. Off work I have a Garmin MARQ Adventurer and 7X sapphire solar. All of them are absolute beast watches.

Charging port plugs/covers are available and cheap. For 4 years I’ve had repeated problems getting a good connection to charge my Garmin. The plug/cover has helped a lot.

Been using my trusted G-Shock for years but wanted something more. Just picked up the Garmin Fenix 6x, love it. Charge only shows 21 days, so that 50+ days is amazing. Syncs fast to my phone, but I only run 5 miles each morning (well below your runs :) .

I ran a Fenix 3hr until the battery was basically trashed. I got 8 years out of it. I gave it to a friend to try out the smartwatch life, and upgraded to the tactix7. I get about 3 weeks on a charge, using it EDC and with workout tracking 5 days a week. I do kill GPS most of the time, unless tracking a hike or whatever. I didn’t pay extra for solar, and don’t really miss it. YMMV.

Thank you for sharing your experience with Garmin Enduro, great review from you. I wish I waited on my purchase and watch videos like yours. I bought the Garmin Forerunner 55, not a bad watch at all. Great road running watch but if you go through the mountains signal gets lost at certain points. I had to re-configure my GPS settings but battery charge will take a hit. Anyways, I am a runner and now love running trails. I didn't know after watching your video the Enduro had the feature Navigate. I have a separate device Garmin Etrex 32 when I'm on a hike that I use that provides a map. I also study the actual map. Somewhere down the line when I have saved enough money I know what Garmin GPS watch to get. Love the idea all in one plus your personal preferences noted in your video.

GPS signal losing will never be an issue with saphire models like the Enduro, fenix, and epix. The saphire version use multi- band GPS I've had complete accuracy in remote mountains and in the middle of seas amd oceans around the world w pinpoint accuracy. Everything you mentioned, including the “not giving badges for Frosty 5k” exists in a COROS Apex Pro or Vertix 2 for like 1/3 the price of the Enduro, plus a simplified ecosystem. Gramin gives the participation trophies lol

I've got a fenix5, not a bad watch but has a few flaws in my opinion, but I'm not in the market for spending another £500 on a new watch just yet: 1. I'm not entirely sure the heartrate monitor on it is particularly accurate unless you use the chestband with it. 2. The stock silicone straps are garbage. 3. if I don't clear the memory after about 6 months it loses the bluetooth sync with the app until I fully clear the memory. The biggest complaint is If you wear it 24x7 the silicone starts to rot your skin as it's unable to breathe under the watchface. After trying a bunch of different straps that all failed in one way/shape or form, I've finally got a single strip of fabric velcro one that I bought from amazon that works well. The replacement silicone and fabric ones from Garmin are massively overpriced.

I have a high frequency hearing loss that kept me from enlisting in the Marine Corp. With that being said, if this watch does have "high frequency tones" that a game animal could hear while hunting, or an enemy could hear but I could not then that could cause me a problem. Before I think about purchasing one of those watches I have to ask. Does that watch have "high frequency tones"?
