Hi ! Like you , I bought a Jr full sapele dreadnought ! I own a Taylor 314ce - A K24ce Koa - and a Gs mini-Taylor Koa ! But I much prefer the sound of Martin Jr .versus Gs mini koa . The pick-up system is not the same ! The sapele wood gives a seductive sound , the dug is deeper , the setting knobs are discret and it's treat ! I do not regret this choice !

I recently got one too! I used to have the Taylor gs mini mahogany, but sold it to a friend to get this DJr. The Taylor sounds a little sweeter in more intimate settings, but otherwise, no comparison for me. Wider nut width, fuller sound, complete solid wood, non-intrusive eq, and nice hard shell case. Taylors soft case was so much nicer that the DJr gig bag though

Hey Gabe! Awesome review on the Martin! Quick question, I typically like the concaved shape under the higher frets for the looks and I guess better access to those higher notes.. What do you suggest? @gabebondoc8 жыл бұрын
+Phillip Bunyi Thanks, Phillip! Yes, I was talking solid wood vs HPL. That 000X1AE is a fantastic guitar - you'll definitely hear a difference/improvement in tone over time, though perhaps not as much as a solid wood guitar. HPL DOES have its own benefits, though - great for travel (more stable through humidity, altitude changes, etc.), cost effective and more durable!

@gabebondoc8 жыл бұрын
+Vivianne Joy I think Taylor makes wonderful guitars! Fit, finish and construction are certainly top notch. My own personal quick and dirty classification is "Martin - warmer, Taylor - brighter." Not always the case, but more often than not, this has been my experience. You can't go wrong either way! I own a Taylor GS Mini with Rosewood myself - wonderful guitar! I'm just a Martin guy at heart. Happy hunting! :)

Hi! I bought Martin Djr 1 month ago. Few days ago I found that my guitar has buzzing on high frets (on frets where neck joins body at). I thought that I need to low the action, but I found that string height at 12th fret (capo on 1st) is 1/10 inch, not 1/8. I tried to low the action, but I couldnt make ideal 1/8 inch string height, but when I lowed the action I have more 'buzzing' frets. What I need to do? What ideal string height at this model?

Hi Gabe!! I've been following you for years and have always admired your amazing talent and love for music :) & thanks for the review! I've actually been on the lookout for a new guitar and the first time played the Dreadnought Junior, the sound... was so niiiiiiiice! My only drawback for this guitar was the placement of the battery. What if the battery dies right before you need to perform? You'd have to undo the strings and that would be perhaps time consuming. I'm sure with a guitar like this, it should be obvious to take care of the guitar well, and that would mean changing the strings and battery often. Yet compared to other guitars and brands, why would Martin place it inside for this model? Would REALLY love to hear your feedback. Thanks again for everything :))
@gabebondoc8 жыл бұрын
+Yoon Choi Thanks for the love, Yoon! I'd agree with you - that battery is tucked in there pretty good. If I had to guess, I'd say they went with a "battery bag" to save some of the production costs. I try to change my battery every time I change my strings (every ~1.5 months)... it's still a tiny bit risky, but with almost 100 hours of life per battery, it's not TOO bad. I'd still say it's worth it - the guitar sounds wonderful and plays like a dream! Much love!

Does all dreadnought Jr come with an amp?
@dmar36515 жыл бұрын
no not all. They have also re-done and rebranded the line. The DJr-10 , and DJr-10 Sapele have no pickup. If you see DJr-10 E, then the E models have a pickup. The pickup has been changed from the Fishman Sonitone to the Fishman MX-T pickup, which is essentially the same as the Sonitone, but also adds a tuner to the lower part of the sound hole. Also, the change to the guitar is that the body depth is now a 000 depth instead of a dreadnought depth. Slightly shallower. Also the Spruce top model comes in either a Natural Finish or Sunburst Finish.
@petergoddard19605 жыл бұрын
No amp but the line up contains the DJR 10e (which has the internal pickup and the DJR 10 (which does not, but allows a pickup of your choice to be retro fitted), the difference in price is about $100.
@johnmoyer97194 жыл бұрын
@@dmar3651 let me preface this by saying that I am not trying to start an argument but the D Jr e was a bit thicker and came with the Sonitone. The D Jr 10e is 000 depth but still comes with the Sonitone. The D-10 comes with the MX-T which has the built in tuner. I just bought a D-Jr10e and can say with 100% certainty that it is a Sonitone (plus I made the same mistake once or twice). That said it really sounds good plugged in and absolutely incredible acoustically.
