So here's my question for after Afterlife. Gozer was caught in the trap field and pulled into multiple traps. Where those traps loaded into the containment unit at the firehouse, or were they sent somewhere else? Maybe split between facilities. Because that would make for some serious questions being raised in Frozen Empire if Gozer was put into the firehouse containment unit

Gozer was never official trapped by Ghostbusters nor put into the containment unit in the firehouse,due to the fact containment unit exploded when Walter Peck forced the containment unit to be shut down.Ghostbusters went out of business as they was sued by state and local of NYC for damaging property.Once they was back in business they rebuilt the containment unit in firehouse once the judge ruled case dismissed.Egon after Ghostbusters 2 started to fully investigate end of the world Gozer was trapped in a realm he learned that Shandor Mining Company was a cult of Gozer he took 4 proton packs rigged them the min PKE spike would then automatic cross the streams prevent any spirit from escaping what was in Egon trap is one of hell hounds and while he lured Gozer into his massive trap which failed.When Mr Gooberson,Phoebe and Podcast open the trap the hell hound was released which immediately went back to Shandor Mining Company.Once the hell hounds possessed both Mr Goobersonas Keymaster and Callie as Zulu they released Gozer from the realm.

Vinz Clortho being a complete klutz and Zuul being the alpha dog is a canon I kinda had a feeling of, but thought more of it being the Louis Tully influence than anything else. I am totally on board for it though. The gatekeeper being the more competent one even in the original? To (tonight in cheek) Ray-quote Lucky, "Pretty woke for 1984."

🥺It’s a real shame that the last game, might not be cannon anymore. I really loved that game and story🫶. I know what happened in real life, but story wise, what ever happened to Louis Tolly and any ideas why Egon led her to the trap? Wouldn’t it have just been better to leave it captured and hidden? Or why didn’t Zool just posses Egon and let it go? 🤷‍♂️Never understood that part. Other then that tho, great video and good job putting things freshly together for us☺️👍

I think it's not said but the 1984 attack gozer zuul and vinz lost their corporeal forms in our dimension at least until they can summon the power to reform. Which is why they are more ghostly in 2021

I don't think it was Egon that fixed Ecto 1. If he could have he would have while he was alive. He was into the technical not mechanical. Ecto 1 fixed herself after Trevor sweet talked her. She was supposed to have a supernatural element (ala the parking ticket deleted scene)

No WAY Callie is that old! We can't really use the actors' real ages in this case, that screws up the whole dynamic of the originals! And there several other Veggo references I think you overlooked; when I saw 'Afterlife' in the theater, I could SWEAR the year 1989 was also chiseled into the wall-chart. And I'm almost certain there was a container of pink slime among the beakers. ; )

How exactly does it "screw up the dynamic"? Their ages match up perfectly. Callie had to have been born prior to the events of GB1. Her actress is actually younger than Harold Ramis's real life daughter.

if only Egon would have trusted the other Ghostbusters enough to tell them everything he knew about the anomaly in Summerville, Ghostbusters: Afterlife would have been a different film. the opening sequence where Egon was running from that unseen force would have been a finale where Egon and the Ghostbusters stopped Gozer in his tracks. he would have successfully trapped her there without being overwhelmed without back up. Egon would be alive and an entirely different movie would take place. but we got what we got.

It does make sense, as it mirrors the real-life falling out between Harold Ramis and Bill Murray, who were once very good friends. After filming Groundhog Day, they didn't speak to each other for over 20 years.

@@Rocket1377 that doesn't make it make sense. Ray isn't Bill Murray. Why would Ray disbelieve what Egon said? Ray's well established characterization would have him be excited and hope that Egon was right. Wanting to mirror Ramis and Murray is fine but get someone talented to write it.

I recommend you watch a 2 part episode from Star Trek called The Menagerie. In it, Spock, who is normally by the books and would never betray his crew .... does that. Why? Because he is driven to help someone whom he feels needs it. Kirk was hurt by Spock's actions, although he eventually came around, and the crew too. Shocked from how he acted. In essence, Egon is very much like Spock. He became desperate and mad, losing his friends. Ray would stop believing in Egon if he felt Egon was ACTING out of line. Egon could be onto something, but when Egon isn't acting like Egon, then Ray could question him, and again, he felt very hurt. Hurt can overcome logic and sensible belief.

Ray's behavior makes perfect sense and the movie spells it to you why: The business where he put the capital (mortgaging the childhood house he clearly still had an emotional attachment to) was failing. His only remaining partner started to act weird, to the point Ray was scared of him. And one day, said partner stole all the assets (The traps) that allowed the business to work. This after said partner drove away the few customers they still had. Ray lost the firehouse and probably his home after failing to pay the bills. Do you really believe that Ray would have wanted something with Egon after that? It's not Ray's behavior that needs explanation: He reacted like the vast majority of people would react in that case. It's Egon behavior the one that needs an explanation. What drove Egon Spengler, a guy who even when afraid could act more or less composed and rational? That's where Afterlife fails.

Why would ghostbusters go out of buisness inbetween GB2 and afterlife if there's ghost all over the world and they never used the ghost from the animated series if they created weapons to prevent judgement day wouldn't the government step in and make them rich put in money to researching the afterlife and the storage also wouldn't that lead to sonys other franchise the men in black crossover since the men in black in the comics and the real cryptozoology don't just monitor alien activity but all things supernatural ?
