(Before you read this comment: I love Connor, it's nothing personal.) I can be so annoyed about how ignorant and selfish some Americans can be and to think they're more important than everyone else. If those people could just appreciate that NYC wouldn't be NYC if it wasn't for the europeans. The Statue of Liberty was a gift from France, I've never been anywhere close to New York, but I've seen the Statue of Liberty, on a tiny island in the middle of the Seine. Also loads of names come from dutch names, for example Brooklyn is named after the dutch city Breukelen, Harlem is the dutch city Haarlem, the Yankees come from the dutch names Jan and Kees. And New York itself was originally called New Amsterdam, until the UK took it from us and called it New York.
