@@noelyanes2455 there were and are a good number of people who think that this was the most boring season but it is false to say that everyone hates it. It was a transitionary season that focused more on the plot, character development, and atmosphere and it did all of that superbly. Based on a lot of retrospective reviews and personal conversations I’ve had with people season two has come to be a more appreciated era of The Walking Dead.

@@neonlad897no it doesn't. They're right Jon bernthal wanted this scene to go another way, same stuff said but when Rick kills Shane. A Walker is approaching and he takes Shane's gun to put it down he tries to shoot and the gun goes click. Shane wanted Rick to do the hard decision. He wanted him to accept the world for how it was.

@@neonlad897 It makes perfect sense. If Shane wanted Rick dead, then he'd have shot him where he stood instead of putting the gun down and antagonizing him. Shane doesn't want to give up what he has, but can't bring himself to take it away from his best friend. Rick has always been the most important person to Shane, but things aren't black and white and he's at odds with his own selfish desires. This sentiment is revisited when Rick dreams about Shane in S9xE05. The two talk argue about why it "had to be me", where "me" isn't Rick or Shane but the idea of someone who will do what is necessary to survive.

I know I'm alone in this, but I absolutely loved episode 1 season 7. I hated that Glenn & Abraham died, but I've never watched something before where I was fully immersed from the 1st second of the episode to the last. And man, after that, I had a totally new respect for Andrew Lincoln as an actor. Like, how TF does one portray those kind emotions?

I appreciate this scene and clip so much. Such a powerful moment that I feel like people just don’t appreciate enough. This was a landmark moment(and many others) in TWD that even made these actors very famous because it just felt so real chemistry wise like there was real drama there and not pretend. They just nailed that naturalness. Also, I’m not one for fan edits on music tracks added in but this one really nails the mood and adds to it in a different way. Well done. 👍

I will say this, as a supporter and lover of the early apocalypse, this is exactly why I love the first seasons, because it shows how this new world changes people who are not yet ready for it. They are still getting used to it and joining in with what is happening, but at the same time, only recently they remember the world as completely different from how terrible it has become now. And it changes characters and breaks them for better or worse, almost every one of our favorite characters went through a change like Shane did in season two, and that's what's fun to watch, and of course Darabont's direction also had a very huge impact on why Most fans go back to the first seasons, during Atlanta, Farm, and Prison, because that's when, for me, the series had its peak interest, and it was truly interesting to follow and empathize with what was happening.

@Chaotic_H3LL2 ай бұрын
Yes. Lori is seen in the flashbacks to be complaining about her marriage with Rick. She seemed to already have issues in the marriage, mostly around Rick rarely ever being home because of work. You have to consider. The start of the apocalypse and Rick finding his family happens within less then a month. What kind of wife can move on from her dead husband THAT QUICKLY if they aren't already having issues? And the same for Shane. Your best mate, is supposedly dead, you know he could actually be alive, but you assume his dead (as its harder to bang his wife if you know his alive) and within the time they are trying to get to Atlanta, Shane is already making moves on Lori. She rejects him sure, but its literally less then a week into the apocalypse and less then a week that her husband is supposedly dead. Shane had his eyes on Lori for a long time. Lori was already having issues in the relationship (and id like to say, the mum she was talking to suggested divorce and Lori ONLY shut it down because of Carl). They were bound to end up banging even without the apocalypse.
@troillandford76792 ай бұрын
@@Chaotic_H3LL nah. I think Shane settled for Lori cause she’s the only candidate worth banging during the apocalypse. Otherwise, I think Shane would’ve found someone else to date. To me, Shane always seemed to have a power fantasy of being a leader/protector, he only leaned into that role (being the leader of Atlanta group / being the father figure to Carl and Lori’s partner) once Rick left the picture. In a perfect world, I think Shane would’ve left his town to be his own leader and settle with a girl.
@Chaotic_H3LL2 ай бұрын
@troillandford7679 Except we know this isn't the case. It can't get any more clear cut than what the show actually shows us. Which is Shane leaving Rick alive. Then, telling Lori he is dead. Then, almost immediately making a move on her. Operation Cobalt began on August 28th and ended September 10th, which places Shanes first move on Lori, literally 2 weeks into the apocalypse. Shane founded the Atlanta camp. So they weren't out in the wilderness by themselves alone for years where Shane had no other options. Rick woke up about a month into the apocalypse, and by the time he got to the Atlanta camp, realistically, it had probably only been about 5 weeks since the apocalypse started, if even that far. You then have the whole "Trying to kill Rick" in S2. Where Shane tells Rick, "I'm a better man than you, Rick. I'll fight for her" this isn't the mentality of someone who is salty and can't have their casual fling anymore (that they only had 2, maybe 3 weeks by this point depending on how loyal you think Lori is) this is a man who was in love with his best friends wife, jumped on the first opportunity he got to smash, and is pissed that the same best friend is alive and has shown up and is now preventing him from having the women he wants. This isn't a case of Shane "settling" Andrea was at the camp and was an option, Hell, Shane barks up that tree during S2. Amy was an option as well. It's not like Shane didn't have other women he could have pursued instead, Shane just wanted Lori. Lori's marriage was already in the dumps and wasn't going to last much longer anyway. Without the apocalypse, Lori's divorce would have happened. Sure, i guess it wouldn't be cheating anymore. But i firmly believe that Shane would have still tried to make a move with Lori. Weather that would have been successful or not, i'm less certain. If his attempt failed, I'd be inclined to agree with you that he'd move to a different town or place and find someone else. But i completely disagree that him going for Lori was just a case of "Settling" due to not having other options. And given how fast they started porking its just unlikely that there weren't any feelings prior to the apocalypse starting. Edit: Rick never left the picture either. Shane forced him out of out by claiming he was dead. He also immediately was taking Rick's place. As i said above, he was the person who founded the Atlanta camp as well. This was a guy who looked at Lori's family photos and subconsciously replaced photos with Rick and Lori with Himself and Lori instead.
