For me the smash hitting Djokovic was more than likely unintentional. Where should you aim a close smash like that to avoid any real danger? Low near the feet. Where did it hit? The foot. It happens so many times in Tennis matches, you turn your back and you get hit accidentally. Now the thing I didn't like was that Norrie put his hand up then walked away, no real apology for hitting Djokovic. Then with everything else that happened after, that felt like pure gamesmanship going on. Looks more like Norrie was trying to rattle Djokovic instead of pumping himself up or actually had any issues. Was it a heat of the moment thing? Most likely but when it comes to the handshake, the least you can do is have a quick chat or give a little apology.

Norrie saw that Djokovic basically gave up on the point by walking slowly toward the baseline and even had a court wide-open to hit the smash down the line, but instead chose to hit the smash literally at Djokovic. It wasn't intentional but such a dumb and senseless move by Norrie. He also should've done a better job of apologizing to Novak after that incident, but clearly just raised his palm as if he hit a lucky shot.
