What happened to Barnwood Builders? Who died?

The American documentary-style series, “Barnwood Builders,” topped the ratings game when it premiered in 2013, and has remained to this day one of the most-watched shows in the history of the DIY Network. Make-overs on television seldom get old, as indicated by the huge number of reality shows with that concept, but what made this Silent Crow Arts-produced show stand-out and gain a huge following was because it featured a group of hillbillies, led by Mark Bowe who celebrated the ingenuity of the American pioneers by reclaiming, restoring and repurposing the structures they built using hand-hewn logs. Viewers came to love the talented crew, and when one of them disappeared from the series, they couldn’t help but wonder what happened, especially with even rumors of their deaths circulating online.

In my humble opinion, WE NEED MORE HILLBILLIES!!!!! It's amazing how big entertainment wants to even make "reality" TV fake by telling them to create division on the set. Really disgusting. So glad these men stuck to their integrity.

I love this show , and every member. I'm a Tennessee hillbilly and proud of it and I have nothing to be ashamed of . I have a great wife , 2 great boys and I'm not scared to work hard . I love Barnwood Builders , we need more shows like this now more tha ever . Thanks for this video .

Absolutely loved this show. No drama, just good ole boys doing something worthwhile. This was real stuff and anyone that is country loved it and I'm sure a lot of city folks loved it as much as I did. Too bad and so very sad it's gone.

My family built two log cabins 45 years ago in the mountains in southern Colorado. I have learned several ways to preserve and repair the cabins by watching Barnwood Builders. We had a small farm in Lindside WV. A short drive to Lewisburg where Barnwood Builders have their office. I started watching because of that, but watched all of the episodes because it was that good. The “hillbillies “ in that part of WV are some of the nicest and most genuine people I’ve ever met.

I live in the UK, this is the best reality tv show ever, the team are all lovely guys. somebody asked me which one was my favorite, I couldnt answer, I like them all as much as each other. what they achieve is absolutely fantastic, they all know exactly what to do and how to do it. I dont think this show could ever be beaten by anything else on tv. The history in each of the buildings is wonderful to know., seeing how they went together when they were built is so interesting. the only thing I dont like about it is the snakes, they terrify me. I can watch every show over and over again, it is far superior to anything on tv today. This show needs to and should go on forever, everybody talks of recycling and reuse of old things today, this is the ultimate in recycling and reuse, it is so informative, and an example of one way of saving the plant and trees, too many people are happy to just destroy things that could and can be put back into use, and want brand new timber, those logs could go on for hundreds of years. I would love to live in a barn that they save and rebuild.

I watch these shows over and over and enjoy learning about log structures. When I see log buildings, I find myself inspecting and looking for characteristics that were mentioned on their show. If pretend drama had been included, I would not have watched any of their episodes.

I'm a 63 year old country boy and still live on the family farm, but I haven't actively farmed for over twenty years. I got pretty soft working for the DOD for over 34 years, retiring two years ago. About five or six years ago my wife and I got into Barnwood Builders. I told her at one point that I could never do what they do, but they sure made me hate my job.

I loved Barnwood Builders and watched it until I moved and couldn't find it. From some of the comments it sounds like Barnwood Builders is no more. I'm truly sorry to hear that. I like barn wood builders, if there’s never another show aired : I thank God for good clean programs like these. My wife n I went by the “boneyard” while on our trip in 2017, out in the country where I figured it to be. Great scenery to enjoy and a good place to have a family and teach them younguns a trade, if they’ve a mind to take after you

I thoroughly enjoyed the Barnwood Builders show when it was on tv, one of the few shows where everyone was nice to each other and there was no one trying to make anyone out to be some kind of nasty person...the boneyard and the shop in Sulphur Springs, as well as Round Top in Texas, are all on my bucket list for when I eventually get over there... and the list is getting longer all the time...

I really love Barnwood Builders! No matter what I could ALWAYS count on these very lovable “HILLBILLIES” to show us what they’re doing, why they’re doing it this way, what our ancestors had to do & how they did it, they explained the history of the barn/building & you could always count on a laugh! These boy’s are more than co-workers, more than friends, they’re brothers/family ALWAYS! I’m crossing my fingers that Chip & Jo can fix whatever it may be & get these boys back where they should be! While I appreciate that this video, it did teach me a few things that I previously did not know, I found it disappointing that they were showing the wrong people throughout the video while talking about another. If you can’t match names & faces that’s a problem. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m not sure who was doing the editing here, but (I’m sorry 🙄🤭) that was a big fail & the sad part is it wasn’t just on one person. ☹️

Great show! I like how there is very little drama. Well, what drama there is is real drama, not fake drama. Other "reality" shows like Highway Thru Hell and Heavy Rescue 401. I enjoy those shows for the most part, but there are times I find my eyes rolling when the narrator starts asking "dramatic" questions--"can they get the wreck out in time?" In time? In time for what? Dinner? Barnwood Builders shows Americas roots.
