Dave Kindig should have a half hour show on tv JUST doing art...like a half hour, Bob Ross style art show drawing and markering the hotrods WITHOUT the actual real car stuff, its just an art show showcasing his art abilities and stuff

They are right at the top with Chip Foose. Amazing talented people working on projects. But, like any custom build, you gotta have fat cash. Most cars are $250,000. And then they go on the show circuit for 2 years. Who really drives these cars once built. After the show circuit, everything is dated , and nobody with $$$, wants a dated built car. So, it's job security at the highest level $. And sometimes when the owner wants something up to date, he sells the car at Barrett/Jackson and someone else buys a $250,000 - $300,000 initially to build, for $ 120,000. Quite a steal.

Every car shown to completion is close to perfection. The cost of any one of these is way beyond what the average car guy can afford. I'm guessing 200,000 as a starting point for these cars. I'm afraid to even guess what the high end cost would be.

I've seen a few of his cars for under $100k. He has some on his website that are 4sale. One of his 1st builds on his show yrs ago was a GMC future liner, and that was about $ 3 million and a lot of time and fabrication work.

The "Super Nova" build was the sickest car I have EVER SEEN!!! A 650 cubic inch 3,000 h.p. twin turbo put under a factory hood...that's insane!!! Dave Kindig is the best car designer on earth...and the team behind him is the best on earth...period!!! If you have any complaints about his builds...YOU MIGHT BE A KAREN!!!

The only thing that restricts Kindig Customs is the customers imagination... if you let kindig ride on a build then it will always be a Masterpiece .. they are masters of their trade hands down.

Great show indeed happy staff happy boss .If you pay the staff well and im sure they do that is a big plus.Pity there is not something like that in Australia some have tried most well all are useless and those cars they build in the shop would not pass our laws in Australia that is for sure which is a big mistake.

I like the show and love the cars , when I clicked here I thought the court case was going to be about the door handles he makes , I don't know if anyone realized it but the handle design is very similar to the 1969-1972 Pontiac Gran Prix.

A couple years ago Dave said the Copper Caddy was 7,500 man hours. At $100 an hour (their shop rate is probably higher than that) you're looking at $750,000 in labor alone. Add in all the parts and 1 million is not out of reach.
