Of course in the USA there was actually an attack on disco music by heterosexual white males because they saw music that was loved by gays, women, blacks and Latinos was inferior to their rock and they saw it as a threat and when white straight men feel threatened they use violence. Theta actually held a disco destruction night in a baseball stadium and brought disco records to destroy on the field. Only time an entire music genre was actually physically attacked. Luckily it lives on in Europe, Asia and of course in lgbtq clubs and with intelligent straight people.

Amazing group! huge in the UK, I spent my teens listening to their music, going back to my roots was a big hit here. Lilian was an amazing singer, the pure emotion she evokes when singing "If you are looking for a way out" it gets me every time. It is such a shame they did not get the recognition in their home, especially New York, Native New Yorkers should be the city's anthem! I saw Lilian's Son perform as Odyssey in Minehead UK a few years ago, he is doing his Mama proud

Thank you for the video. Thank you for recognizing them. I liked the fact you discussed what happened. TinaTurner had to overcome that same age obstacle and they were nasty about it. Like Odyssey, she showed the industry. I noticed a lot of artists do what they did. They play where they are popular and they will make money. It is a shame what they did to them in the United States. They do this a lot here to this day in the United States. It is not just music artists. That is why you see songs released in Europe and United Kingdom and Australia and New Zealand that do not get released here. Thank you again. You can find a lot of this stuff here on You Tube. The song Native New Yorker has had several remakes too. It was used in the Good Times seroes. Thelma danced to it in an episode. Glad to hear the group lives on with the son. I learned about the other hits because of their success in Europe.
