These figures were some of the only good "toys to life" figures because they worked as display pieces also. The character designs were absolutely INSPIRED. I bought a bunch of them just to display them. What's crazy is the one "toys-to-life" option people made the most fun of - Nintendo’s Amiibo lineup - is the only one that's actively still around and even gaining in value on the secondary market.

I remember me and my older brother played this game so much. Since he had played so much longer than me he knew what he was doing. As time went on though we got tired of playing as the same characters over and over again. Now I’m eleven and he’s 16 and Disney Infinity 3.0 is sitting in its case in my room waiting to be played one last time.

I remember playing this game 24-7 and my twin and I would always fight over the Spiderman figure because we liked how he could swing on nothing but the infinitely stretching sky. I missed this game so I went back my old, dusty box and found my 30+ figures. I plan to set up my PS3 and play it again. Hey Chat, what was your favorite character or world to play in? I loved Spiderman and Maleficent. I also enjoyed playing in the Wreck is Ralph world. The theme song is still stuck in my head from that game.

The opening to the first game is still pure magic to me. I am bummed that I never got to play 2.0 or 3.0. I only had 1.0 with one expansion pack, The Lone Ranger, and I never played co-op or online multi-player. Still I am grateful to have experienced it in any capacity.

@@runedeschinckel8422 Yeah, you just can’t play online anymore (so no online multiplayer and visiting other’s levels) There’s fan-projects out there that are bringing back online functionality tho But you don’t need online to make toy boxes, play your own, or do play sets

Thanks for the video. I just brought out my figures from storage and ordered the PS4 version disk! I still need a few figures for collection, but luckily they are not very expensive now. When game cancel was announced, ToyRUs were selling all their figures at buy 2 Get 1, and so I stocked up on my 3.0 figures that way, and a few 2.0 as well! Can't wait to get back in and start building my Toy Box again!!

Just as long as you don't call it a rip off because Skylander is more about battling and leveling up your characters. Disney Infinity is more about creating your own toy box World because there was a toy box mode and toy Story. 3. Back in 2010 before skylanders even came out

8:03 no! dreamlight valley is absolutely not the same, way less possibilities and no way to play all this legends by yourself(only act as them without their powers...) or even local play with family and create different gamemodes,worlds by yourself which have even logic and deeper extra functions or fight a evil invasion back. There is no combat in dreamlight valley, you cant also not ride the famous disneyland rides only watch at them, cant build a own gamemmode, i was building a gamemode in syndromeland to invade the world with ally omnidroids and the hero have limited time to defend the world, as example. Or building complete long rides/darkrides too different attractions together. heroes vs villains pvp battles was also a great epic battle between good and evil, flying around this worlds coop or fight each other, betraying each other after beeing allied, this cant be compared with dreamlight valley! dreamlight valley is a relaxing peacefully animal crossing clone without much possiblities to build and without combat or local multiplayer.

Another problem is some bases are console specific. Like if you got a starter pack, the base is strictly for that console. If that's the case, Amazon has a universal one.

I mean, it's a shame it got canned when there was more content on the way and all, but overall, the Toys-to-Life genre was a complete scam; a way to make a game much more expensive than it had any right to be. I remember back when there was only one Disney Infinity game doing the math to figure out how much it would cost to have every character and playset and it ended up being over $500, when an ordinary game without the toys gimmick could have included all that same content for $60. Now imagine how much more this would all cost if when the second and third games came out; you'd have to spend well over a $1000 to have the full roster. I'm glad that Toys-to-Life as a genre is over, though greedy publishers have already moved onto new terrible models like live service games. Also another problem with the games were that they were more interested in advertising their recent movies rather than giving people the classic Disney characters that they wanted. We got characters from The Lone Ranger (a colossal flop that Disney will _never_ acknowledge again), live-action versions of characters instead of their animated versions like Maleficent, and more Pixar characters than actual mainline animated Disney characters. Plus the addition of Marvel and Star Wars meant the odds of those classic characters getting in was ever smaller. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if this focus on recent characters instead of classics and fan-favourites is a partial factor to it's downfall. Did anyone at Disney truly believe more people would be lining up to buy figures of Disgust and Fear from Inside Out rather than say, figures of Hercules and Simba had they made them?

​@duncanmacleod7287 Yes you could play offline. You can use everything that the game has to offer in toy box modes. Playsets and figures work with any console, but some bases are console specific. The arcade and everything community related are disabled. But you can enjoy the game as offline is full of different things to do and you can also revisit the older games if you want to experience a particular playset.
