I feel bad for the Granny series. It deserves more credit than it gets. The concept is fun, and the games are great. They remind me of Slender. Not just in the old Slendrina sense, but moreso in the sense that it's a semi-low quality horror game that's overall just a great time.

I think the reason Piggy blew up while it took Granny an year to get popular is cause the Roblox community is quite big already. Granny had to create a fan base from the ground up which is quite hard, especially to keep them hooked. FNaF was able to keep its fan base hooked by having four games releases in the span of an year so by the time Sister Location came out the fans where already invested and wouldn’t mind waiting longer for higher quality games

It's sad really, the Slanderina lore didn't got a lot of attention as Granny. In the Phillipines and Malaysia or Indonesia the game was pretty famous and known a little bit, especially in the Philippines. The Slanderina games bring us nostalgia at the same time we laughed out of it because we talk about how we used to be too scared playing the Slenderina games. Too bad the game was forgotten by western audiences since like 3 years ago.

I understand the misconception, but Piggy isn't a Granny clone at this point. MiniToon just wanted to make a game for him and their friends to mess around with, and they were surprised when it absolutely took off- over the past year and a half, he's branched it off into its own thing with its own story, (a pretty good one at that) characters, gameplay mechanics, and modes. Once again, I understand the misconception as it seems that way! But at this point, Piggy is it's own thing.

I think the company focused too much on updating the first game. They added too many unnecessary new rooms in the house and kept updating it instead of making new games. Eventually they released Granny 2 but at that point the first Granny had like 10 new rooms since it was originally released in 2017 and was too complicated having way too many rooms. I personally thought they were milking the game with all these updated and I never saw a point in adding more rooms when the game was playable and enjoyable.

Yes, I still play it. It isn't true Paulina Pabis stopped updating it. She is only updating mobile version. It just recently got a library update this month, and a new map not too long ago. It now has 3 monsters and 3 maps. 4 monsters of you count the witch for the Halloween update. It also has lore now. I'm dying for it to come back into the spotlight, I think with the library and lore in the game now there's some theory opportunity that is completely untapped

A web series was made a few days after slenderman was created it was called marble hornets which was super popular back in the day and alot of other slenderman web series/stories were created then in 2012 a person inspired by marble hornets decided to make a game about the mysterious creature and it got super popular then he did a collaboration with the my guys to write a story for his second game which is a sequel to slender the 8 pages named slender the arrival the game was also popular then it slowly died Thats where the games died but a ton of web series were still alive

Honestly i don’t think you can really call granny a dead game; sure less people play it, but it’s not an online game, so unless the developer stops updating the game for software updates, it will always be available to play. It was a massive game for the mobile horror genre, and it’s hardly dead with all the speed runners and content creators still playing it. While no where near on the same scale, it’s a similar story to the original super Mario bros; it’s not online, and if you think the game is dead, then you’re oblivious to its speed running community, and a game like that can’t die, cause it’s not online and will most likely forever be able to be played. You can call a game like an online first person shooter dead once everyone stops playing it, because if no one plays it, then you can’t play since matchmaking becomes impossible. I just feel like this guy is a little ignorant to the game in general and has probably only played it once.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the developer just makes these games for his own enjoyment also I really like how the games look they were made on the same engine as Quake and Half Life 1. It really gives it that very early 3D fps feel

Here's my list of reasons on why piggy became popular and still Granny's fandom: 1. Peppa pig was a very funny joke in 2020 2. We were in the middle of a pandemic where we were all left bored in our own houses with nothing to do 3. Gaming channels decided to check out Roblox as they had plenty of time to make whatever content they wanted to 4. Peppa pig was and is a very beloved character to children 5. Roblox is largely dominant by children, who always get to memes away later.

Yes, if not then why would Slendrina appear in Granny? Granny is probably Slendrina's grandmother who is now trying to protect Slendrina's remaining things (her Teddy bear and diary) after her death. In Granny, if you grab Slendrina's Teddy bear, Granny knows where you are and her eyes turn red. There are so many connections between Slendrina and Granny which people ignore....

The Granny dev should team up with another developer to create the trilogy from the ground up in Unreal Engine or something. Make it a PC series with better visuals, audio, atmosphere, etc.

Fun Fact: Piggy was inspired by a cartoon named peppa pig. it was conformed when a user send a picture that the user build a peppa pig house and minitoon replied "that is the true chapter 1" (someting like that)

Man I miss when this game was popular, it was so fun to watch and play. Even if it was a “low quality” horror game, the chase parts where more fun than a typical horror game since it never really felt scripted. Thinknoodles and a few other Ytbers cover this game’s updates still, the original granny is now actually quite a long game.
