Jar Jar was Padme's surrogate in the Senate,he had her power of attorney in the Senate at the time he made the proposal for Palpatine to get emergency powers. Let's not forget that Padme was one of the leading voices,if not the leading voice, against the Military Creation Act. If she did a 180 and came out in support of it,her allies in the Senate would follow suit. When Jar Jar made the proposal for Palpatine to get emergency powers,the Senate saw that as Senator Amidala reversing her position and supporting the Military Creation Act, when she appeared via Jar Jar to switch sides,her allies in the Senate followed suit. See what Palpatine needed was to get a Senator that wasn't on his side to come out in support of him, which was what happened when Senator Amidala via Jar Jar made the emergency powers proposal.

Or would Sidious have changed his plans and destroyed the republic with the droid army then turn the assets and resources of the droid army instead of the Republic to his will?

I agree. Jar Jar may have been a clumsy comedic character, he was a good, kind and misunderstood character that didn't deserve all of the hate he got from the galaxy. He was trying to help the Republic deal with the Separatist crisis, that was orchestrated by Palpatine to make sure his plans for dominance over the galaxy as its ruling Sith Lord would be great and unopposed. It's not like Jar Jar was hoping that would happen, he was just trying to aid to end a galactic conflict.

I think he was originality supposed to be a sith or sith apprentice because Lucas said in an interview that it all revolves around jar jar and he has a big role to play. I think they changed it after the fans voiced dislike for him. Just a theory

Jar Jar went full retard. That was the problem. If Jar Jar had shown something really good for an instance, it would have peaked people's interest in the character and label the character as a flamboyant disguise, but either Goerge didn't pay attention to that or didn't care for the character other than a clown. Given the power role he achieved if he were a secret darksider helping Palpatine but using his clown attitude to hide it would have changed the whole perspective of the character without changing anything on what happened and thus no one would have hated him.

I hate this character, but what happend to him later on was & still is a bit harsch. Looking back at the "Disney-SW Nonsense-Bullshit Non-Canon Sequel-Trilogy", especialy "The Last Joke: A Spaceballs Story & The Rise of Palpatine", if you think about all the silliness, the stupid finale, Jar Jar would've fit in there perfectly, and wouldn't even be the worst thing. There he could've become a hero, rehabilitation, which would've been the only "good" thing.
