It was a dramatic olympic for the Russian trio. Trusova was crying and pissed off at their coaches, Kamila was crying from the doping scandal pressure & Anna was stunned not knowing what to do despite winning the olympic. They should've not let Kamila participate in the first place, knowing well how the media would scrutinize her. They claimed she was a protected person, yet what they did made the situation worse. Poor Kamila, her coaches & doctors should've taken the blame instead.

People are acting like this is the most shameful, ruinous, horrible, abusive thing that could happen to a 15-year old girl. I promise, it is very very far from that. She didn't perform well - once. Her career is far from over. 2. What about the little girls who weren't doping? They didn't even get to enjoy their "once in a lifetime" moment because they were all feeling so sad and sorry for her. She fell because of the pressure. I find it interesting that, in 2014, Eteri had another star pupil, Julia Lipnitskaya. Eteri insisted that Julia skate both programs in the team event. Her iconic free skate garnered much media attention--so much that the pressure built on her to win the gold medal in the individual event. Instead, she fell and came in 5th, I think. That was also, basically the end of her career. The Eteri-group skaters are already under so much pressure to perform and also to keep from being replaced by a newer, younger skater. It is no wonder that they often buckle under the pressure.

Guilty until proven innocent. The protection of minors should always be the top priority. The CAS failed to exercise discretion in their harsh ruling. Do you throw the book at a previously abused child just because the rule book says you can? My heart goes out to her. All the more the pity because child prodigies are a rarity. Kamila has always had issues with the axis in her jumps, since she was a junior and especially in her Quads and Triple Axels. None of her mistakes were remarkable to me. Those jumps were always basically hit or miss if you actually examined the technique and how she rotates. To the person saying she was rushing... yes... because she made mistakes on her jumps which put her behind the music, so she had to rush to get back to the music. That's why she's behind in the individual event, but eventually catches up to the team event version. But, she made more mistakes, which meant she was having to rush to catch up to the music continuously. If you aren't on the music, you risk incurring a deduction for going overtime, or you have to cut your ending spin short - which can cost more than the overtime deduction (due to loss of level and potential GOE hit... the judges have eyes and knew what this program looked like by then). Personally, I think her skating skills were extremely overrated. Even her crossovers aren't even that great quality, and she does more crossovers than most skaters do these days. The Russians often avoid forward crossovers as much as possible, as it really exposes the weaker skating skills (they don't tend to skate on edges as well as others). This program was definitely constructed to hide that. I will say, her posture - at least - is better than Zagitova's was. I still think she has way better skating skills than Shcherbakova and Trusova, though. For all the faults that Trusova has, IMO her basics were noticeably stronger than Sherbakova's - who had a history of falling on footwork and I don't see how the judges got her PCS up as high as it ended up. She just didn't do anything but skate in circles to do quads and definitely had the worst programs of the trio (I really liked her SP from the year prior, to Appassionata). This Doping Fiasco made this competition a bit of a bore to watch, IMO. It really sucked the oxygen out of the air and the only thing anyone was wondering is how this girl would perform and what they would do if she won the competition.

Kamila's talent is unique in this world: her flexibility to stretch in the candle stick as well as her expressive mouvements are there for all to admire. That is why in the individual programme, the hateful journalists and invidious people did everything to prevent her from being on the podium, using the most despicable lies and diffamation. Doping has never been proven. I am so happy she has regained her strength, her quads, her outstanding performance in Mongolia is the proof that the evil people who complotted her downfall did all that to no avail. We will continue to enjoy her art and beautiful performances. What a joy to be able to see such extraordinary people as Kamila, Anna and Yuzuru Hanyu who are truly the gems of figure skating.

It's amazing to me how the choreography and expression have absolutely nothing to do with the music; she somehow finds a way to be completely disconnected from its intoxicating nature. She could be skating to anything. The arm movements and overextensions are so superfluous, it feels likes she trying to cram as many in as possible, rather than putting intention behind them. While the jumps look impressive on paper, there is some weird technique going on that isn't quite exemplary. The triple axel in the team event was landed so easily (after she had never done the jump previous to that season) that there is NO WAY she was not seeing the positive effects of doping. Not buying it.

I mean, I do feel really bad, especially because we never know whether it was the young lady's mistake or whether her coach or family pressured her into it. That said, some people are acting extremely sympathetic, as if the world somehow set this young lady up. I feel really bad, so don't get me wrong, but even being a teenager is no excuse for cheating. some people enroll in colleges as young as 15/16 (outliers, for sure, but it happens). And if these people were caught cheating on an exam, no one would rush in and say, "oh but they're so young!!!" It's like, no, you're not an adult, but you should know what's right and what's wrong. I feel sympathy, for sure, but only so much. After all, there were other competitors in this competition. On a side note, why not let everyone just dope haha. Because then you're levelling the playing field, if everyone's doing it, and you're not spending scores of money to test people or to even retract their medals.
