What Happened to my M2?

My 2018 BMW M2 has only had 3 minor issues with it that were all covered under warranty. In this video I talk about those issues and other costs associated with owning an M2. For me it has been easy but then again it only has 23,000 miles on it. I feel the is the best drivers car currently on sale under 60 thousand dollars and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a car that will be exhilarating to drive.

Recently sold my M240i for similar reasons. Felt the same way, best driving car I've owned. Needed more practicality for the time being ...but I'll be back.

I’ve had one of my tail lights short of my F80 M3 didn’t realize it was a common issue. Love the M! However will be selling due to maintenance and dreaded future repair fees. Dropped $5,000 on intercooler, tires, spark plugs, tail light, alignment, and all fluids in January. A month later, ordered a Y performance. Love the channel. Use my M3 as my daily and I put 20k miles a year on it. Glad I had the opportunity once in my life! My dad has a 16 M2 and I much prefer the drive of the M2 to the M3. Compared to the M2, the M3 feels like a grand tourer. A lot more torque but much less precise.

How is the ride quality on potholes? I live in NYC and 4.6 inches of ground clearance plus the suspension stiffness is concerning.

I think I bought your old M2. What a great car. Did ever get around to changing the plugs. I have a box of new oem plugs in the trunk along with a cabin filter and the original grills and spoiler.

Porsche for sure make the really great daily driver performance vehicles but since you already have a cult membership, I would go with a Model 3 Performance. Also the current delivery estimate is pretty short on the Model 3P right now. I have a Model 3 LR and I really enjoy the vehicle on my daily commute especially with the outrageous gas prices. I also charge for free at work so I don't even need to home charge.

Giving up my 2008 BMW 650 for my current Tesla was hard, loved that car. As cool as my Model S is the BMW was much more fun to drive.

As a BMW fan, I’d say the new BMW M3 Touring will suit your needs perfectly :) However, I also love the Porsche Macan, even though I think it’s starting to look a bit dated

My 2018 LCI also had the right rear taillight replaced at 10K after I started seeing turn signal malfunction errors in the dash.

2022 GR86!!!! is my vote. I went from my focus ST to a Veloster N. Loved the N but i wanted RWD. Now I have a Camaro SS lol. If i get offered the right price I would totally sell my SS and get a 86.

Ahh there’s a 2017 M2 manual in my area with under 24000km. Has most of what I want, except the M Performance Exhaust. Obviously out of warranty, but with that low mileage, it should be alright?

I would go with an E90 M3. You can have your family sedan and automatic (M-DCT). Better still just teach her stick, you already did a video on it, and keep the M2.

LCI just means 2018. Non LCI is 2017 and 2016.

Yeah definitely let us know how much that tail light is out of warranty. It's a common issue amongst all us M2 owners.

@@milosroganovic1507 I had one go out under warranty and it was repaired. I can't remember the exact issue but there is a big thread about it on the M2 forum if you need more info.

Same issue at 80,000km, BMW charged $1000 AUD to replace the one tail light. Because I was second owner and bought it from a different dealer (Skoda), BMW said they wouldn’t cover it. Bit frustrating..

Forget the Macan!..Don’t listen to Dana. Go with a DCT F80 M3 so you can enjoy the S55 and all the content to go along with it and that chassis.

I’ve owned 3 BMW’s prior to buying a Tesla Model 3 about 3 years ago and as much as I love them, will never buy another one with an internal combustion engine. It’s almost as if they are engineered for the check engine light to come on every 4-5 months once out of warranty! Having said that, I’m very intrigued with the i4 M50 and I’m considering replacing the Model 3 with it. It could make a great family and performance car and would love to see your take on it in a video.
