What Happened To My Mercedes W123?

Hi Miller! The car looks great. I need to say that I also own w123 2.0 diesel which is currently in state of the turbo restauration mode . I hope that the new engine and a few rust spots will be done in a month and it will become my new daily. For anyone that calculates - good Merc diesel daily drive will save you a ton of electric/electronic repair money you will otherwise pay to your local mechanic for your out of the warranty hot hatch. I brought the decision the moment that I payed 150 euros the 3rd time for broken key card for my Renault Scenic (aside from other maulfunctions) . It is a bit slow but merc takes 8L of fuel combined.

I remember fitting a new retractable aerial to my GTV and being dead chuffed. It was a source of entertainment to many who had never seen an aerial go up or down before as they were too young 😂

Another great video Joe, part of the fun of owning a classic is fixing other peoples piss poor attempts at repairs or bodges lol. The seat looked a lot better, and is does make you wonder about how many butts have been sat in it lol.

No South African cars didn't come with that upholstery. They also all have 280 bumpers front and rear, and a few other minor differences. Including a assembled in SA tag. Aerial is dreadful .

@@nealyardy4602 I don't recall ever seeing a 123 with that upholstory in SA although they did have the checker pattern cloth but those window lock mechanisms that dissappear flush into the door cards were a local adaptation to try and combat theft. I've never seen a 123 anywhere else with them.

There are lots of tell tale signs of a SA car, writing in Afrikaans on seatbelt, stickers, windows, those lights where only on SA 280. Vinyl around door pillar, lots of differences It is definitely not an SA model.

@@nealyardy4602 The lights can be changed. What do you mean by vinyl around the door pillar? I repeat. I've never seen those door lock posts anywhere but SA.
