I hope you all enjoy today's video! Been a while since I played an old cod game and thought I would go back and play black ops 1 and also discuss why we haven't seen anything regarding old call of duty games appearing on the game pass! Let me know your thoughts and opinions down below!

Definitely the 2 main reasons is cause it would take away from current Cods, and also cause of hackers. The old games are too far gone, if Microsoft couldn't stop JTAGs in 2010, what makes you think they could in 2024? If they implement a new system update on the 360 to try stop RGHs, it won't take long for it to be bypassed, won't do much good. Theoretically the most they could do is manually wipe infected theatre clips from Bo2, but the other games are honestly beyond saving at this point. Microsoft need to make a Halo MCC version for Cod, that is really the only way to save/preserve these games tbh.

Yeah, at this point it is impossible to make the Xbox 360 secure, it has been hacked too deeply plus Microsoft wouldnt waste resources on a 20 years old console that doesnt make any profit, especially after the stores were shut down. I see only 2 realistic options to revive old CODs which would fix the cheater issue. First one is to introduce a game patch that explicitly separates Xbox 360 players from Xbox One and Xbox Series players. (Xbox One and Xbox Series players would be in one pool together and Xbox 360 players in a separate matchmaking pool). The other option is if the online functionality of Xbox 360 gets shut down entirely. Then players would have to move to Xbox One or Xbox Series and afaik those systems are secure and there is no jailbreak for them. Which means that people couldnt hack in COD games anymore. And I dont rule out the option of complete shutdown of online functionality on Xbox 360, it happened for the original Xbox (classic) as well and 20+ years after release of the console, nobody should expect online support from the company that released the product.

I don't own an XB1 anymore but would get another one if this could be a reality, or better yet if they just made a Cod version of Halo MCC, that way PC and Playstation can get it too with crossplay, since Steam has major RCE exploits that is just as unfixable as the console issues. I fully anticipate XBL for 360 getting completely shut down within the next 5 years, with the store already gone Microsoft really don't need to keep 360 running, the only reason they do is cause backwards compatible games run from 360 servers since it's emulated on the other Xboxs. If dropping 360 is going to happen and Microsoft does want these old Cods or just any backwards compatible multiplayer game to survive they need to be ported natively to the newer platforms, cause you can't play Cod on Xb1/SX without the 360 being online unless games get ported. Like recently R* ported RDR 1 to Playstation and Switch, Cod could do the same thing, don't change the game, just copy paste and re release.

@@Nitroh- ofcourse native ports of older CODs onto newer gen consoles (Xbox One/PS4 and Xbox Series/PS5) would be an option, however we all know that current day Activision wouldnt let those games 1:1 untouched as they were back in the day. There would be massive censorship on games like World at War and besides that they would add microtransactions, new skins and weapons to classic games like BO1, MW2 etc. Also they would implement SBMM for those older games. All of the aforementioned things is a nogo in my book, the og cod fans dont want to see any of that crap added to older classic cods. I dont want to see characters with pink anime outfits and rainbow unicorn guns in Black Ops 1. I agree that in the next 5 years XBL will most likely be shut down on 360. But that, in theory, should not be an issue though, cause Microsoft could kinda migrate 360 XBL functionality over to Xbox One and Series plattform. At least for the franchises that they own, like gears, halo and cod. For those franchises they would probably leave the online multiplayer functionality active in the background (even with XBL on 360 being shut down), but only on Xbox One and Series S/X. Honestly, the 360 needs to be disconnected from XBL that is the only way to experience the older cods without cheaters and hackers. There are a few ingame exploits in some COD games like the theatre mode exploit, but those can be fixed easily with a patch for those games. The biggest issue with the 360 is that there are stealth servers, that effectively hide jailbroken consoles from being detected online and because of that trash individuals can cheat in every single 360 game online without being banned. So yeah, XBL needs to be turned off on 360 and everyone will be forced to buy a used Xbox One or Series S/X and then the cheater problem would be solved all by itself in those older Xbox 360 online games. Thats the only realistic way things with cheaters would ever improve in those older COD games, Xbox 360 needs to have its online functionality completely shut down and people would have to move to Xbox One or Series S/X. In that case I would also buy a Series X console.

@@CDogbruv I recently purchased a ps3 in hopes that in older cods there are less cheaters. Can you confirm that there are still enough players in older cods on ps3 and less people who use cheats? are you in europe mate if I may ask? I hope that there is some playerbase left in older cods on ps3 and not too many hackers mate. Another positive side of the ps3 is that you dont need PSN plus subscription to play online, unlike xbox 360 and newer consoles. A used ps3 can be bought for like 35-40 euros (the old phat ones), if you play more than 1 year online, it ends up costing basically nothing compared to xbox 360, which requires 45-50 euros for XBL Gold per year plus the initial price of a used 360, but they are really dirt cheap so it doesnt matter that much though.

@HoxMeister hopefully if they ever did the dlcs would be free the cod 4 dlc maps are free so it is possible but I do doubt it because I think activision knows if they did put bo1 and bo2 on game pass some people would probably pay for the dlc for those games even with how old those games are.

Considering these games are peer to peer servers it may not happen. Peer to peer servers are pretty big security risk leads to things like ratting, and other forms of getting info on people. The new games are not peer to peer

Counter argument to this is everything we seen with the h2m mod and activisions response to that. So there is an argument to say old cod games on game pass could have the same effect and maybe that is why they aren't on the game pass currently. There is also the argument these games aren't safe either which is also very true and need a massive fix for them to be put on game pass.

Haven't finished the video yet but why would Acti/Microsoft want people on the old games. All the MTX/valuable statistics are in the current games and the people who'd be interested in playing the old games are people who already have the old games bought.

They would need a native port to current gen, since backwards compatibility is emulation it has to be a re release to take 360 out of the equation. Also, even if they could just port them to new servers on the existing versions, it won't stop cheats like the guy in this Firing Range game had, double health/god mode classes can be used on normal 360, xbox one and series x, someone with a modded 360 just needs to put them on your account, I bought them off a friend in 2015 lol, I don't use them ofc but have done in the past. Same with Bo2 theatre infections, can use them on any console.

I sold my Xb1 to get a PS4 in 2016, anytime I play these old Cods it's on 360. 360 is honestly the best place to play them anyway, the controller is better and there is no input delay, since it's emulated on the newer consoles they have notice input delay, so 360 is better for that reason.

@Nitroh- 360 is the best for playing these old games I agree but the problem for most is having a 360 that works and will continue to wokr So I would advise most to get an xbox series s when looking to play these old cod games and still have a console that can be used for the current games!

@TazXGold I have no need for a series, all modern games I play either on PC or PS5. If my 360s break I have a good local retro store that can supply good quality refurbished ones. Plus I like collecting game discs so a digital only console would be useless to me.

​@@TazXGoldI doubt it, those updates usually stop after a certain point. MW3 (2011) promoted Advanced Warfare but stopped. Black Ops 1 is still promoting the Resurrection DLC pack. MW2019 promoted MWII and stopped there. They only do this when there's still a sizable amount of players in the games. Doesn't make sense to as far back as World at War to promote Black Ops 6.
