the 110 shampoo and 119 are puns. In Japan, 110 is the phone number for the police while 119 is for the fire department and emergencies Shampoo has special techniques her rivals for Ranma lack. She is the only one, for example, who will resort to seduction. I do not think Shampoo is really in love. Shampoo is for Shampoo and her place in her tribe. But that isn't to say her teenage hormones aren't massively sparked at meeting a guy her own age who is so skilled in the martial arts - what she has been trained in all of her life. Living in a matriarchal society, she has had little chance to meet somebody a worthy fighter like Ranma Did you see that Ranma didn't try to defend herself when Shampoo was ready to deliver the killing blow? Up until then, she had thought girl Ranma was a strong opponent. Now she saw her as somebody who is too weak and would harm her honor to take out. Or at least that's a way to make sense of what she failed to do to Ranma
