One of Shayne's eyes was removed due to eye cancer when he was a baby and he used a glass eye. I remember two of his most popular covers were the songs Fireflies and Jane Doe. He had an original song I loved called Summer Love. He is Canadian and is half Filipino. In 2010 he uploaded a video as an audition to a Korean singing reality show. It was random and he got in and reached 3rd place. These types of shows were relatively new in Korea so Shayne got a bit famous there with die hard fans. On the show he didn't know how to speak any Korean and after the show he was mentored by a legendary Korean singer Shin Seung hun. After the show he released songs as a pop singer on Korea. That is how he learned enough Korean to make kpop songs even though he is not Korean. I remember thinking how insane that was, him being really camera shy and yet being on this giant televised show in Korea on stage every week. I hope this helps fill in the gaps! I randomly looked him and and noticed that his old videos were removed and found your video to learn more about what happened since I last saw him.

i've been a fan of his since high school and completely forgot when i started my heavier studies and got into grad school. one of his new covers got recommended to me, and i suddenly remembered who he was, and that i listened to him all the time. I guess this is what he is doing nowadays! still wish him and his s/o all the best!

What a good idea - the translations. I've often wondered what the words are and if they rhymed/made sense. Doing English to Japanese would be pretty lucrative I'd think. Sounds like a cluey guy!! Thanks for the info.
