Fellow husky owner here. When I adopted my girl I noticed that she had awfully bad breath. I took her to the Vet and she eventually had to have 8 teeth removed. I now have been brushing her teeth 3 to 5 times a week and she is doing well. No problems eating kibble. So glad Sherpa made it through the surgery.

Agreed. I use an enzymatic toothpaste (poultry flavor) 😊on my dog. He is small breed around 3 1/2 years old, and have had him since 9 weeks old. Even if he did not need it at the time, we were encouraging good habits. I started with finger brushes, and made sure to reach until the last tooth (molar, premolar). To this day we brush once a day and his teeth are beautiful and white

We had to have emergency surgery a couple of years ago on our now 17 1/2 year old doggo. She lived and is going strong now, although she does sleep pretty darn deep these days. I'm so glad that Sherpa will be okay. You are as brave as he is. I know you were incredibly worried. Hang in there. Your boy will be okay and will feel so much better. And that added nail trim...priceless!!! ❤❤

So glad you are able to take care of Sherpa in this way. We had a little Chihuahua, Gidget, we adopted from our 94 year old neighbor who had passed. Needless to say when we adopted her we discovered her whole mouth was infected, and she had all of her teeth removed except for one. It seemed pretty extreme, but Gidget adjusted quickly and she was much happier living pain free. I'm absolutely sure Sherpa will adjust, and feel much better in the long run. Thanks Jamie for sharing with all of us who have come to love Sherpa and his poppa too.

My 7 yo dog lost 11 of her front teeth. After healing about a week you would never know. He will do Awesome. Virtual hugs to you and Sherpa

My Cat 6 years ago had 11 total extractions but was eating her wet food the next day & I was balling my eyes out the day of the extractions! Vet said she had a weak plate on the bottom, had been a stray & perhaps lacked proper calcium. She still has plenty of teeth left at 14 & the Vet says they look great!😳🐾💕💕

Best to have it all done whilst he is under anesthesia. He will feel so much better in the long run. Friends of mine’s two dogs have had all of their teeth removed and once their gums healed they could eat hard treats etc… Such a relief that he is awake. That is the scariest part at any time but especially in older dogs.🙏

This is great news for Sherpa's surgery and recovery. It's good that it was just plaque causing his infection issues so he can keep his incisors so he can still rip all the raw meat chunks you toss in his bowl. ;~) And I believe that he will try to milk it as long as he can.

Thank you soooo much for the update! I literally jumped up and thanked God to know he’s awake! I must let you know that my best friend’s elderly cat had to have ALL of her teeth pulled recently! She feels so much better now and so will sweet Sherpa! Thankfully animals bounce back a lot quicker than us humans! It’s just yummy soft food from now on! Thanx a bunch for this update Jamie my dude. I don't always check the channel, but this was important! After my vintage cat Trevor had 6 teeth out, for 3 days I fed him liquidised special high protein food, supplied by the vet. And then encouraged him to eat his regular food from my hand at first. Great to see Sherps back in the van and then at home!

We found an old dog that had been abandoned, so was in a terrible state, dew claws grown round into her leg, rotten teeth and etc. We took her to the vet and she had 13 teeth out and all cleaned, along with all the other stuff done. She was as right as rain within a short time and we had her for another 5 years. Good doggy.

Teeth out altogether 12/13. I know how he feels after having so many teeth out. Mine were'nt all in one go tho, but I've had a total of 10 out since childhood, traintracks & a tooth turned 180 degrees. Sherps milk it for all you can because Dad Loves you sooo much so it does'nt matter. Get well soon. Jamie hope you keep up with all of Sherps TLC.
