The fact that many hiphop artists end up leaving the industry and getting more into their faith should tell you a lot about what goes on behind the scenes...

It's way more simple. The streets have their grip on hip-hop as a whole and many may have a guilty conscious about the crime they have been exposed to. If that's not the reason, than many hip hop tropes i.e. "money, fame and bitches" are nothing to be proud of, if you have been brought up with some moral teachings you might end up regretting things you propagated in your songs.

Puff totally fucked over Mack. It was sad how his life ended. Never abandon others who helped you get in a position to become wealthy. Mack was his foundation. Big was the one who ultimately became bigger of course but I became a fan of Bad Boy because of how much I enjoyed Mack music FIRST.

The fact that people who spend a little time with Diddy ultimately end up finding religion is both hilarious and eye opening.

One of the saddest things I ever saw was Craig Mack standing outside my club Suede on 23rd street unable to get in. My man looked dejected so I got him a drink inside but it was depressing. No entourage like Puff or girls like N'Sync. Just Craig... by himself. head down not thinking he was getting in. Nice guy though, I didnt know him like a lot of other dudes but from that one run in he was nice as hell. Loved his shit as well

Ikr I couldn't believe how much he had deteriorated until I saw him before dying. Puff sitting up in his mansions and enjoy the high life. A person like him should NEVER abandon those who helped him get that fortune starting with CRAIG MACK. I don't care what you have to do unless Mack was a toxic person which he didn't appear to me before passing. I'm so disgusted with Diddy in how he managed all of those label artists aside from Total. Shyne LOX Mack and Big suffered crushing ends to so much success generated over the years Puff cannot deny that. Mase is a different deal. He pretty much went his own way with debts he incurred by not completing his recording contract and doing the religion thing full time like Loon.

I became a fan of Bad Boy because of him not Big. People used to get annoyed by how much I played his music back then. I didnt give AF tho. Craig was the shit to me. I was mad they abandoned him after Big status took off. I'll never forget that either.

@@ilovemyweed24480 Snoop made the right decision. When he left Suge for Master P his entire life changed around and Master P coached him into being a businessman. Lil' Wayne signed Drake and Nikki Minaj and look how well they did. Many of Jay-Z's artists screwed themselves, but he made Kanye and Rihanna into billionaires. Basically it goes to show how much Puff and Suge screwed up. These people were on top of the world in the 90s. There was no reason to screw over artists. Everyone could have ate and then some. Everyone could have been investing, buying real estate, starting businesses etc. They could have all ate well at the top without the drama and the backstabbing and shady contracts. Looking back at these labels from the 90s there was just so much wasted potential.

Puff was a businessman and visionary. Mack's creative differences with Puff ruined his career. Biggie watched and rolled with the direction Puff suggested the rest is history. The other end of this with all the artists is Puff spends like crazy to get them on and like all other music contracts, that investment gets paid back 1st or of the record sales. The artists usually make their money on touring not the record sales. None of them and their management held them on tour and out working.

They all had a successful stint, not just Cassie. Cassie wasn't Bad Boy's most successful artist. That was Biggie. But Cassie didn't have a very successful career. Yeah, she came out blazing in 2006 with "Me and You," but she pretty much fizzled out after that. But she remained with Bad Boy because she was dating Diddy (YUCK) all that time.
