I´m from Ecuador, one time I saw two guys having a fist fight in the middle of the street, out of their cars, under a bright sun, they were insulting each other and punching each other while "lovefool" sounded loud through the car´s speakers. I´ll never forget that, it was so cinematic. It happened many many many years ago.

I remember running into her once in Athens, Georgia, and she was, oddly enough, with Billy Corgan, and they asked me for a light. I did not smoke so I was unable to help them. Still, it was surreal - when someone taps you in the shoulder and says “hey man, got a light?“ And you turn around and you see those two faces it’s just weird.

A Camp is the solo side project of Nina Persson, vocalist for the Swedish indie pop band The Cardigans, her husband, composer Nathan Larson, and former Atomic Swing guitarist Niclas Frisk. Learned a ton about from this video about The Cardigans....biggest thing is that MTV refused to air the main release from "my favorite game" because it was too edgy! Like "WHAT?!?!?!?" MTV in that day and age played some wild stuff and had even more edgy videos! As in, they refused to play the video because she was driving with one hand. WTF????? Was it because MTV's music interest lied in them being a pop band instead of an indy band? This truly blew my mind. MTV seemed never one to censor bands and artist back then. I really need to know the "behind the music" on this subject with MTV and The Cardigans. Great video.

sincerely love their discography, but Long Gone Before Daylight was SUCH a big album - just GORGEOUS. it's a shame they won't be making new music, but they've been touring again, so THAT'S something...! also, their side projects are really great, from soundtracks Nina has done with her husband, Nathan Larson, her band, A Camp, Magnus' solo Righteous Boy and latest outing, and "Brothers of End" from Lars & Bengt, three albums of GOLD. def look 'em up!

My brother told me that he had been to a gig in London where the promoter had put on three bands with a knitwear theme. I can't remember exactly what the other two bands were but it was something like the Cardigans supported by Jumper and Sweater

The thing about the song 'Love fool' it was not just Nina Persson sweet appealing voice in this song. The funky guitar playing by Peter Svensson was just great! It really sounded James Brown funky. Not fake funk wannabe at all.

Long Gone Before Daylight and Super Extra Gravity is my favorite phase of The Cardigans. I was smitten by the very first track, "Communication." I wish those albums were recognized more. There were so many brilliant songs on each of them. "Live and Learn" is one of my favorite songs of any group ever.

This was the first video of yours I've seen. Good stuff. They may not fit with most of the other musicians you've profiled but I think Stereolab would be a great subject to dive into.

Me: "Well of course, I was into them right from early on, around their first album, Life" Me after 4:14: "Oh...". The funny thing is it was hearing Sick & Tired on the radio, which I now know was from their _actual_ first album, that got me into them, but that isn't on Life, and I don't seem to remember ever noticing its absence when I bought it. Oh well, good video, I definitely learned some stuff I didn't know, from both ends of their career!

Long Gone Before Daylight is the finest album released this century. By anyone. Super Extra Gravity has half an album's worth of superlative songs too. It is a real shame that after two such a fabulous aalbums they stopped recording. Really wish Peter would record with them again.
