Man that is crazy that they're pretty much non existent now! Just shows it pays to treat everyone with courtesy and respect, also shows the downside of doubling down on negativity and not apologizing, I feel like if that service manager dude would have just been apologetic from the beginning and offered a solution none of this would have happened to them.

My father in law took his 2024 Nissan Frontier to the dealerships he bought it from this week for his first oil change and tire rotation. He got the truck back and started driving home when one of the rear wheels came off and damaged the frontier. He had it towed back to the dealership and the guy that worked on it admitted he forgot to tighten the nuts and it was the first time in 30 years that it has ever happened to him. So even the more experienced workers can do a bad job. Good thing is that they are repairing the truck and gave him a loaner till its done.

Crazy how Acura treated you so badly. One reason why I went with my '22 IS350, the Lexus dealership experience here in Florida at least has been A+ with their service and warranty work. They also do walkaround videos before service anyway for their own liability. They replaced my Mark Levinson speakers with no questions, gave me a loaner and everything. Hope the Subie and your Miata treats you well. Had a Mazda6 before my Lexus and it was great.

Got me a '24 WRX for 33k. Base with STI sts. 2.9% & 513/month. My first new car in about 7 years. After ive read "its the best WRX ever made" it made me a little more confident because these cars are medicore at best. Ill just continue to drive my 92 tercel on the daily and IS F on the weekends.

Acura of Ann Arbor amazing! 3 years ago I had a $500 deposit on a ordered TLX Type-S. However, several months later Jan 2022 I ended up buying a '22 Lexus IS500 Launch Edition. I called the Acura of Ann Arbor to notify them I ended up buying a Lexus & they immediately refunded my $500 deposit.

I never want to see anybody fail at a business, but those guys had plenty of opportunity to make things right with you and blew it. Even in the sales department, I had contacted them to try and buy a used TLX type S they had on their lot and I even emailed them twice and they never wrote me back. Somebody got my email though because several months later, they contacted me out of nowhere and asked me to check out their current inventory. If they can’t even get your sales people to email back, they got problems at the core.

Yeah this is why I take new cars for service at several dealers over the first 10k miles until I find a good one that I eventually stick to. There are just so many shady dealers with awful service advisors. In terms of the free maintenance… that’s so weird that Acura wouldn’t do it. Subaru gives 2 free years of maintenance and that’s basically 4 oil changes and tire rotations. But they’ll do it whenever you want. I did the first free one on my WRX at 1000 miles.

I have worked in Customer Service for over 20 years. And even if the person is wrong and you are still professional but disagree with them. With management it is an issue. But nowadays the lack of Customer Services especially Managers going Toe-to-Toe with the Customer is ridiculous. I as a customer, am not interested in becoming your best friend.
