Maybe the competitive side of this game but let’s get something straight: solo play is terrible in literally every other shooter. Would suggest Bank It since most lobbies play it like TDM anyways. Best mode to play solo and just shoot people.

This game is without a doubt worth trying. Its free, no harm in giving it a try. Im personally having a blast both in world tourneys and the new ranked mode. People complain alot about the mode because it's different than what they're used to. It takes some time to adapt to it.

I really do love this game its grown on me since launch. Very easy to jump in and have fun. BUT problem is the devs kinda messed up their launch window. Balancing was terrible and low content drip and now them adding more game modes like 5v5 TA , while i do like it, it has some shit gadget balancing that they need to address asap. more important than that it just feels like the devs are having an identity crisis of what to showcase the finals as. Is it revives and multiple teams fighting for cashouts? Or is it a single Life tactical game? Not great for new players

I can tell you as an avid player, they knocked this season out of the park except for one thing… Ranked. They ruined ranked and removed the focus from Cashout and onto Terminal Attack. That change will 100% be reverted eventually, the community backlash has been vocal and nearly unanimous. Tonight at 5pm EST there’s a Twitch Rivals Cashout tournament that should continue to breath life into the game

I'm definitely in the same boat as you, the game is just meh to me. I'm not a fan of hero shooters. If Embark made a military FPS PvP game, I would be all over it as they are the OG Dice devs. I just can't get into the different abilities and whatnot. It's not interesting in the slightest, hero shooters are played out. Also, the lack of game modes makes this game boring as well.

My issue with the finals is that I actually like gunplay and movement (tho I'd like the medium movement to be a bit faster) but I don't like the hero shooter/class system and the main game mode gets a bit tedious. I'd like it have game modes, maps, gameplay designed like BF Bad Company 2. Gunplay and destruction are already there, give us a proper gunsmith and cool maps for conquest or rush and let's go!

Idk, for me the longer I stick with it the more I'm enjoying it. The BP for season 3 is much better than season 2 for starters. Like 2042, or any overly repetitive modern shooter, I literally only play for like 1 or 2 days a week, complete all the weeklies and then turn it off to avoid burn out. But in that time, I'm actually enjoying being on this game. Plus the change in my internet definitely helped. My old internet did not mix with this game well. All other games, fine, the finals, cooked. Now I don't get cheesed on even the easiest of kills or get sooo much stutter, so I take riskier plays, my aim is unhindered and I just be racking up points, combos, revives and the game flow is just enjoyable. Kyoto on powershift is a laggy mess, atleast for me. Buildings too damn big and too much bamboo lol.

Sure it's a fun game , I hate you have no side arm . As a Titanfall 2 player and Battlefield player I found it ok . I wasn't over the moon about it because the game always revolves around those cash boxes . I found Crysis 2 way more fun back in the day and Counter strike . Shit even Splitgate I find more fun . Nice graphics and everything tho , gun plays not bad . But not really my thing . I kinda of find Bf2042 kind of meh compared to BF3 . I love PUBG apart from all the cheaters . The narrative in this video paints a good picture why the game is dying. Within a 9 Minute video I hear contradicting statements "The Finals is one of the best FPS games to come out the last 6 years", "The Finals is a bit "meh"", "The Finals is a bit boring", "The finals is a fairly decent game". I think the problem is this game tries to be too much at the same time while lit lacks some of the basics of modern FPS gaming. The cash-out is super fun but it doesn't really reward objective play and instead of optimizing the mode for ranked they gave us a generic bomb defusal mode. If I really want to play something like that I have way too many option to do that in games that are specifically designed of that mode by developers who have a much better understanding of what this mode needs. The Finals needs to look at all of their core ideas and see if they need to change it, that goes as far as looking at classes, weapons, gadgets and customization.

I remember during the play tests I disagreed with you about its longevity but now having played it even tho it looks awesome in videos and is really fun I just don’t play it for some reason. I feel like it’s a combination of being a little hard to initially get into because you need to relearn the game mode until you don’t suck and also that it does get a bit repetitive even tho all of the destruction is really awesome. If you like shooters, and you like aiming, this game simply allows you to have fun and be creative in your gameplay with an incredibly high skill ceiling. The developers have shown great communication and talent creating the core of this game. The game is free, a player spends max $10 for all current and future content from battlepasses because you'll always earn enough to buy the next one, with plenty to spare for actually really creative cosmetics. When it comes to downtime and repetitiveness, downtime goes down a lot in higher ranks, lots of double cashouts, people go for riskier plays and sometimes split up etc, and I personally don't see how this game is any more repetitive than CoD/XDefiant/BF2042, not saying these are exceptionally good games, but every game has some type of repetitiveness and all give that "meh" feeling after some games, and personally The Finals still feels like it solves that problem the best by creating so many different possibilities to outplay your opponent with it's destruction, physics, movement and abilities. Why does it not catch on generally? I think it has caught on, to the players it has currently. It attracts sweats and therefore it is hard for the more casual players to stay invested. People need to tryhard and invest time to have fun, therefore it is hard to expand. The studio has made some balancing mistakes and changes to the ranked gamemode recently, but due to their great communication and openness to the community I think they will respond well, but we will have to see. Embark has proven to me that they have a way better understanding of how to develop, market and maintain a First Person Shooter game with The Finals ($0) than DICE has done with BF2042 (currently $60). I would happily let the creation of the next Battlefield be influenced or even led by Embark.

for anyone who's on the fence about trying it: this is not a competitive game it may have competitive modes and ranking systems and all that, but this game is not made for competitive. and thank god for that, seriously, it's such a breath of fresh air to get an arena shooter that's not re-balancing the fun out of the game because of competitive players screeching on twitter about it my advice: go play the Bank It gamemode, pick whatever loadout you want, and have fun. dont tryhard, dont even worry about winning, there's 4 teams, it's a 1 in 4 chance you'll win. go mess around and have fun trying to get some sick clips or play with a weapon that feels good to use

Yes but the problem with this game is not the game itself, it's the players who play it in an extremely competitive manner, abuse every meta possible, and Embark constantly incentivizes them to do so. This is the FPS game where using a gun actually puts you at a disadvantage when you're going up against someone using melee weapons or gimmick weapons that that have in this game. Sweats are everywhere. The game is made like a casual game but you have to play it like a sweat. I know what I'm talking about because I have 620+ hours in the game and I finally had enough of it.

I think they need to add capture the flag or Blood Money from BFH. Also up the player count to 10 vs 10 for the big modes... I love The Finals and it's the game I play most. I love the cashout mode, because there I can play the support role I enjoy. Terminal Attack does not interest me at all and I agree it isn't that suitable for the game. I don't find the game boring at all, but maybe it's challenging and enough for a casual gamer dad like myself. For a pro player / content creator I can understand there aren't so long killstreaks you can achieve. But for example www.youtube.com/@ottr doesn't find the game boring, he's one of the most popular content creators for the Finals.

@@cxngo8124 oh i agree, i hate terminal and want nothing to do with it. ive never actually played terminal until a few days ago when i got a friend to try the game. i was baffled to find out that new players are forced to play x amount of terminal games before unlocking the CASUAL MODES like quick cash. but it's understandable why they made it ranked for this season. what other mode were they supposed to use as replacement, power shift? however, if this "replacement" is not reverted in season 4 then the devs are insane and should be separated from normal people.

The biggest problem that people have is that the problems that the games had since CLOSED BETA 1 are still in the game and haven’t been changed or fixed. Terminal Attack was relatively disliked from most of the community especially in those in the higher skill bracket / MMR. They ruined how ranked felt in S2, hidden elo / MMR, terrible spawns, same balancing problems as S1, new map felt bad to play, needless nerfs on stuff that was genuinely fine whilst buffing things that were already strong. So to essentially rip the Core mode of the game to make it a “Casual Mode” to put in a mode that was supposed to be a LIMITED TIME MODE, really pissed off a lot of people. That as well as server stability still being that of a wet piece of paper as well as input latency feeling worse from patch to patch, on top of arguably the worst anticheat I’ve ever seen just adds up to an experience that feels wholly inadequate for a game that really should have more hype surrounding it.

I don’t think content is the issue, I think competitive plays are the core of the game. Once esports enters the game and smart players become more common, the game will be better and more fun and creative. I’ve had countless outsmarting cases and I wish everyone could have that fun too
