@keithwoodcrest Жыл бұрын
Same here actually. I put off watching it because everyone was hyping it up so much and that typically turns me off to things but I finally sat down to watch it a few weeks before the Oscars and I was immediately on board with it. Ke Huy Quan broke my heart with his performance and it helped me understand my wife, who is just like Waymond, and her family, who are immigrants from Macedonia who own a small grocery store in upstate NY, so much more and honestly just made me want to work harder at being a better husband. I visited some relatives in Vancouver about 20 years ago and, having flown all the way from the UK, I could not pass up the chance to take a couple of days for a little driving vacation down to Astoria - to visit my childhood! It was such a lot of fun. And instead of me having to hire a car with potential problems at the border (and the expense), instead my uncle let me borrow his beautiful 1980 Z28 Chevy Camaro to do it (his pride and joy - he was a bit worried!). That added so much to what will always be an unforgettable trip.

The Goonies does not need a sequel. The story was wrapped up in the original movie, the original cast and crew are all much older or dead. Plus, the original is beloved by so many people. A sequel or reboot will almost certainly flop. They need to take a movie that originally flopped and remake that instead. The remake of Dune is a great example of that happening. Don't remake or add an unnecessary sequel to a movie that doesn't need it.

Or i see a Goonies 2 where they are older, they all moved away from the goondocks, they all lose touch, all have their own lives and do not really speak anymore, but something tragic like a funeral of something brings them back together, and then something leads them on one last adventure by maybe the person who died and got them together so they bond one last time and realize while going down the nostalgic road while trying to solve whatever it is they need to, realize that it was to bring them back together and rekindle that spark that made them so special and they all help each other through their decades of unhappiness and emptiness they felt had been missing, but never knew what it was. I dont know. I"m just spit balling here. But this is screen shot and dated incase this comes up in the future. LOL

The problem with making a sequel is that it will end up taking the (IT Chapter 2) route because with the adults it just never works the same. The reason they haven’t touched it since is because they could never make a script to do the original justice. The Goonies is perfect the way it is but the only way I would want it is if all the OG cast come back and it’s directed by Spielberg

The thing with remakes or part 2's that people get so weird about is that it's not gonna change the first film. Take or leave the second. Whatever emotional connection you have to a script and movie and actors, just let it go. I'll never understand why people get so butthurt. Like, ah this one sucked, I have to hate em all. uh huhhh. It's just so stupid. It's tv. It's not real. Your life will go on and you don't have to associate the remake with the original. And it's not like your life and you were part of the fantasy world. Put yourself in what you want
