Story on Marquis Groves-Killebrew: he spent the entirety of last year at Louisville telling the coaching staff he was hurt, but they either didn't believe him or didn't find the injury. So he essentially spent a year not moving well and didn't really have an opportunity to develop. When he got to Arizona, they found a hernia tear and he had surgery this Spring to correct it. Arizona's staff thinks he'll be really good now that he can move like he did in HS.

There are a few things missing from this video: 1. Bobby Taylor officially retired from football 2. Donovan Green saw the field as a true freshman because starter Baylor Cupp had a season ending injury in the preseason. In a twist of fate, Green tore his ACL in the preseason of last year, hence why Jake Johnson started all of last season 3. The “locker room” incident at the South Carolina game is a bit of a story. Before the Miami game, PJ Washington, Chris Marshall, and Evan Stewart were suspended for smoking weed in the locker room. After the disappointing loss to SCar, Evan Stewart reported those who were smoking in the locker room to the coaches and they were suspended for the rest of the season. There were other off-the-field incidents with the class including multiple arrests for drugs, one player saying “F*** Texas A&M” in an Instagram live video, and Denver Harris racing through a parking garage on campus, nearly hitting other cars, and hitting 60mph. 4. Gabriel Brownlow Dindy had a season ending injury last season hence why he didn’t play much. 5. The ending/outro

Although recruiting and talent matters, i think the recruiting rankings are bit off alot of times. You have kids that are clear 5 star type of talents, like Derrick Henry, Jamar chase, Nick Chubb, jordan davis, Will Anderson ect for example. But as for the rest its all up to coaches and recruiters to have an eye for talent, and you may have some kids that may be 3 star recruits but may be better than alot of 4 star recruits, just depends on who the people are who rank them. Some people just dont have an eye for talent like other people. What separates elite programs from others is their recruiting, and development, culture, and discipline. You can have an elite recruiting class but that doesn't automatically mean you're winning. You have to have continuity, leadership, great coaching and culture. Know how to see what certain players are good at and utilize their skillset to benefit them and the team in the best way possible. That's why i dont put too much into the thought of recruiting class Rankings, as long as my team is recruiting at a top 25 level, it means that more than likely they will be fine, but I've seen teams full of 3 and 4 stars play elite football.
@pleasenobotsjd1744Ай бұрын

@@averagedonnie7858 Agreed. In highschool, where there are only a few D-1 level players per team, it's easy to stand out on athleticism. But, when you get to a D-1 team, EVERYBODY is a top athlete. A cover story for college recruiting. With the onset of NIL, Texas A&M was a cautionary tale to coaches all over the country. If you let the online recruiting experts get complete control over the NIL money for your team, then you have to deal with the problems coming into your program. Let the money-men point out to you that these 4 & 5 start kids are getable because we can throw money at them, and you'll never know what kind of personality you have just tied yourself to. Classic recruiting takes your family life, your life off the field, and your upbringing into question for the college team recruiting you. But with this NIL not yet set in stone, it was the Wild West of, "Hey, this kid is a 4-star and close to 5-star prospect. He'll come to visit for just $50,000; that's a bargain!" Of course, the coaches are probably thinking, "Get them on campus, and I can win them over with my unbelievable coaching abilities!"

Only because it’s unregulated. A school can give a recruit 1 million $$$ in NIL and then he can just leave after his freshmen year then continue to do this till his 4 years is up? Now that schools can pay the players directly starting this year they need to start locking them into contracts. I say lay it out as a 2 year contract with a player option for the 3rd and 4th year. If you leave the school after year 2 you have to sign a 2 year contract at your next school to finish out your career.

How are you going to make one of these and not do more research into what actually happened to the players? Bobby Taylor is still at A&M but just stepped away from fball after battling injury. Donovan Green tore an ACL in fall camp just before the 2023 season, he didn’t sit behind anyone. Noah Thomas dealt with some really bad news family wise during the 2023 season so sat out for a few games. If you’re going to tell the stories of these guys, tell them right. Also, you said “one of the few players standout players” to like 10 dudes. If a third or more of the class is standing out, how are you going to call the class a bust after sitting behind vets for 1-2 yrs. We still have over half the class going into fall camp in 2024. If anything, you mislabeled a bunch of dudes as standouts from 2022 because they got major playing time when a lot of them only got playing time due to the vets they were supposed to sit behind getting hurt. And all those dudes were either suspended during their first season or left when Jimbo was fired after two. How are you deep diving into this team and not actually saying anything correct about these guys?
@jwc7215Ай бұрын
Would juat like to remind everyone that A&M didn't spend the most NIL money that class. Not even close. That was all BS. Jimbo chased stars and took a bunch of to guys that were grade and off field risks. Most of those guys are gone and have been cut from their new teams too.
