If I was to remember correctly. The kryll were out in the day time because of the seeders inked the skies. So it blocked the sun and they were able to fly around in that area.

One thing I never understood is how in the beginning of Gears of War 1, Marcus acted like he had never heard of the Kryll suggesting that they were a recent development. Yet in later games and books, it was made clear that the Kryll had been around since the beginning of the war. So was this just bad writing or was there an actual reason for it?

Marcus was in prison for a good portion of the beginning of the locust war. I don’t think the Kryll really appeared until Ra’am did though I’m not too sure

Marcus was in-prisoned at the beginning of the war because he disobeyed orders that cost the COG a very important battle in the first year of the war and was there until year 14 of the human locust war. Good chance he fought some locusts types but never encountered all types in that time frame

If they do a movie It needs to be in the survivor/Horror genre. To me that's what made gears 1 better than all of the others. Simply put we were made to fear the locusts. When there was 1 mauler present in gears 1 all of the squad had to take it down. When gears 2 and everthing else after came out we lost that fear. A movie done right can become an awesome tribute to an epic franchise.

I heard a long time ago that ra'am was a runt when he was born so they kinda just threw him away into the hollow. So he learned to survive by taming the kryll to serve him and thats how he managed to climb the ranks of the horde.
