Your theory probably makes more sense but when I first saw the clothes I immediately thought of the idea of a rapture. Usually in depictions of a rapture peoples bodies go to heaven and they leave their material objects behind so I thought it could have been something like that and that would explain why the world is so twisted and hellish. Also since there were a lot of references and comparisons to the 7 deadly sins in the first game.

@@Tericho This is dark but the residence of Pale City are basically being sucked into the TV and taken by the tower. So what if instead of the doctor being evil and twisted, turning them into monsters, he's actually trying to keep them alive and give them new bodies the tower can't take. This is backed up by him trying to save the patient who was on the heart monitor, maybe he was trying to keep him alive until he could make him into a mannequin, giving him eternal life and making him safe from the tower.

There were plenty of instances where a person's clothes were found nowhere near a TV. My guess is the signal turns the flesh into some kind of sentient goop that crawls its way into the TVs. You can see in the concept art in the video and in the ending chase sequence that those flesh monsters are able to move on their own.

If we’re theorising religion, maybe The Pretender was a play on The Whore of Babylon. Some interpretations portray her as a person of great deceit (pretender?) and key in the downfall of dozens of kingdoms/part of the end of the world. Bit if a stretch, but. (Shrug)

Just a theory, but Ithink that maybe the entity is creating the time loop. It can influence and distort people however has limited range. However it uses Mono's powers to broadcast it's influence across the world, (This area is shown on the map in the chess puzzle). Mono is somehow separated from his powers and sent back in time landing in the forest, which might explain why he can't use his powers then. His powers are then shaped into the thin man and takes the physical age of what mono should be and as such grows weaker with time, this might be why the thin man appears glitch like and why he is weaker than his younger self.

You should talk about the Little Nightmares TV show that was announced by Tarsier Studio back in 2019. I think its also going to be a Netflix series from what I saw online. According to Tarsier Studio, they said that the Russo Brothers and Henry Selick are working a pilot episode of Little Nightmares that will have a stop-motion animation. For unknown reasons, Tarsier Studio hasn't made any updates in the offical Twitter account about the Little Nightmares TV show for the past two years. Its possible that the show is still in production sense it is said to be stop-motion. But if it was still in production, Tarsier Studios should still update about it. Many LN fans (including me) believe that the Little Nightmares TV show is cancelled but if it is, Tarsier Studio would already anncouce its cancellation.

I for some reason thought the eye monster was the thing that controlled everything, both in the maw and here. The thing that makes sure Mono gets stuck in a loop and that the doctor is creating mannequins or that the lady keeps feeding the visitors etc. But that is the townspeople make a lot of sense, the first time you go in the TV you go through the fleshy eyeball hallway which is probably all the townspeople stuck in there, but with Monos powers he can navigate it and not get stuck. Imagine the signal being the invention of the internet. The porcelain children being raised amd taught how to act by tiktok. Adults being sucked in and warped by ig/fb and losing themselves in the distractions, leaving society broken and the porcelain dolls to run amuck. And when they have no other distractions left, they lose their will and drive to live. While all this is happening, time is broken, no one has a sense of it. The one issue I have is that many piles of clothes aren't near TVs. The pile at the bus stop being the best example. And the chairs of the people at the bar were all rotated in different directions, so they hadn't behaved like Viewers huddling all against the same TV as close as possible. Whatever disintegrated or slurped these people did so quickly, and at range. I really worry this is a case of "oh, this creepy idea is so good! It doesn't quite make sense after we revised the story so many times, but it's too good to throw out, put it in anyway."

I have a theory, the pretender is going to be the next antagonist of LM3 (if there is one). If you look at it in order of strength she is the strongest, the lady can shapeshift children in little gnome creature but can't fully kill them with her powers, thin man can take children's physical bodies but can't take their soul(glitched remains) but the pretender can fully make a child dissapear

Cover the secret room with the lady's porcelain doll that gives the unladylike achievement when you break it! It implies the lady was living in the pale city and decided to create/ take over the maw to escape. This is probably wrong but has anyone maybe thought that the story line actually goes like this: little nightmares 2, very little nightmares, and then little nightmares? it kinda makes sense to me. that's how the raincoat is in the pale city. the girl from very little nightmares is the same girl from little nightmares 2. this is how I think the story goes. the girl gets the coat for the pale city escapes the tower and goes to the nest. (I think that's the place from very little nightmares, correct me if I'm wrong please.) the girl then dies, six gets the rain coat and sails to the maw.

Fun fact! When Mono broadcasts the TV in the hospital, if you ignore the instructions and look at the bored full of pictures on it, the bottom one almost-ALMOST looks like the pretender. Im not confident that this is true, but this pictures shows up in both the hospital and the office during the first elevator puzzle in the next chapter. So yeh

I was wondering though if the disappearance of ppl is a stage of the obsession with the tv, how come much of the clothes we see are so clean and proper ex. the man at the bus stop. Why would a viewer be sitting at a bus stop with no tv nearby, same with the ppl in the bar? Wouldn’t the clothes be located in front of a tv? It seems, contrary to the viewers we see in game, that the disappeared people had some form of free will and reason.

My theory was originally that the viewers had been watching their tv’s for so long, and that eventually, not only their face would deform and close in. I was originally lead to believe that the viewers disappeared just as their facial features did, but this has definitely changed my opinion. Edit: While I was looking at the concept art, art the end of the video, I noticed a large baby-like figure looking down on the pale city. I think that the hand in comic 6 belongs to this giant. Maybe we might see them in the dlcs.

For myself, the TV signal (represented TV objects) is something that attracted the viewers and has the power to absorb everything alive(flesh with soul?) along time goes. So this might be able to explain the "sitting" clothes and the "hung" clothes. Just like some people love watching TV and some don't. People didn't get affected (try to escape) or getting weaker affection: 1. They got a little affected but didn't realize that then continued their normal life in the pale city. Along the time they were exposed to the signal, absorbed by the TV. ➡️ Clothes left on chairs. 2. They got further affected but realized that there's no way to escape, then committed suicide and absorbed by the signal right after that. Cause the little nightmares universe kind of having some Asian horror elements related to souls or spirits... Also, the forest, school and hospital didn't have TV or because they are both having their owners/keepers( the teacher and the doctor), these places are not controlled by the signal directly. Well, this is just my theory though😂

When, not if, Azathoth awakens, all things will end, once and for all, and all will once again be Azathoth. I feel like this explains the title of the game, 'Little Nightmares'. I feel like this also explains some of what is happening - all/most of the 'organic' people are hungry, gorging themselves (unless watching tv) then assumedly joining Azathoth's mass (church joke implied) The non organic creatures, the clay kids etc seem to be VERY good at making noise. Banging, crashing, _singing_ . I feel like these inorganic people are the mindless amorphous dancers keeping up the sound, the music if you will, to keep Azathoth asleep. They're the main stars of the show Azathoth is watching I think (hence the eye symbology everywhere) *Stuff on Mono / Slender man / The Black man / Nyarlathotep* - The Black Man is one of Nyarlathotep's most popular avatars and is usually portrayed as a dark-skinned bald man with goat legs and dressed in a robe, but he can also appear as a pale-skinned man with very dark hair and dressed in a suit and top hat. He is a servant of Azathoth and tried to get people to sign the Book of Azathoth in blood. *Nyarlathotep is also linked with the Slender Man because of his humanoid appearance, sadistic desires, and also Slender Man has the same name: "G'hor Nyarlathotep".* ^ This factoid solidifies the theory for me. Pretty sure Mono is straight up Nyarlathotep rather than just a character inspired by the lovecraft mythos. I think this could explain some of what happened in the 'tv prison room' that led to Six dropping Mono, and then feeling hungry afterwards. I think Mono had Six sign the book while they were together in that room. Six became a servant of Azathoth, probably against her will. Servants of Azathoth are imbued with powers but are obligated to serve Azathoth until the end of days, and I think the hunger and ultimately consuming things is how she will serve the god. This could be the moment Six becomes the 'King in Yellow'. No wonder she dropped him. I believe the Pretender is also a servant of Azathoth, and in fact could be Keziah Mason (a witch who studied the secrets of inter-dimensional travel, and would be able to teleport someone and leave their clothes behind)

I have this theory that the patient you have to cut the life support to isn't just a random patient but is someone who was close to the doctor, he takes care of this patient much more than any of the other patients and they are close to where he mainly works, not to mention how upset he gets when they are bothered by the player

The signal tower twist people and leaves there clothes but why when six was turned into monster form did she still have her rain coat? I think it's because she was still alive. But can't the signal tower not affect clothes? When it took the people and made them into monster the flesh monster I guess it Left there clothes because they wouldn't fit. Any ideas? What if The Pretender IS the Transmission Tower? Think about it. The Pretender was using her power to make a "Perfect Life" for herself and, as stated in a previous theory of yours, the Tower seems to be making an idyllic TV show. It would also explain Six's raincoat, who never actually retrieved it, but the Pretender/Tower would know that she would pick it up if left somewhere she would find it.

It’s not that. Humans in the LN universe just age oddly. The child at the hunters shack was most likely a teenager, based off of what we have seen with Mono/ Thin Man.

This is my theory, every single person suffered a fate worse than death. They were all consumed by that fleshy eldritch abomination that you meet in the "Signal Tower" at the end which then spat out twisted versions of them. I don't think any of those citizens are made of flesh any more but instead made of the same stuff those bullies back in the school are made of.

One idea I have that supports your time Paradise thing is the fight between mono and the thin man. Perhaps he defeated the thin man because the two can't really be in the same place at the same time? Kinda like your younger self being held by your older self. It can't happen right? And if it does maybe it causes..whatever happened to the thin man

nice theory you got there... how about we get our imagination rumbling with another crazy theory.. What if the pretender's family has something to do with the signal tower? both pretender and signal tower possess similar abilities by making people vanish leaving their clothes behind. what if her family built the signal tower?? maybe to take over and control the world?? Lets get things more interesting!! IMAGINE the pretender is Mono's sister.. I mean even Mono has the power to twist things like the signal tower and can enter and exit the "signal realm" at will (besides the way the doors of the signal tower opened to Mono shows he is cleared to enter it) The siblings lived in the mansion of very little nightmares and got separated somehow (maybe Mono couldnt handle how spoiled/wicked his sister is with her powers and ran away to live in solitude in the isolated island and decided to hide his face in a paper bag to avoid being recognized). The reason he decided to uncover his face at the end was because he was tired of hiding when his friend six was in trouble. let me know what you think.. this theory just came to me as I was typing haha
