Think of it as if you were ordering something, if the item is faulty you can request a refund however, if the item was damaged because of the customer's carelessness the item cannot be refunded (warranty can only be granted mostly if the item is faulty). In this case the skin appearance in game was bugged so it's a technical error from the game however, the summoner spell selection was completely human error from the player hence why they didn't give him a chance to remake that game for that reason.

The wrong skin appearing in game is a client bug, there have been many situations where playere forget runes and where runes bug out. It varies depending on if the player fucked up or client did. Skins don't effect game play except in very niche cases. If they set the precedent to undo a mistake in the draft then anyone could just pause and get extra planning time to rethink choices which would make games take longer and would give teams an advantage. Makes perfect sense from a professional standpoint

I think in Overwatch, well at least back in OWL, players werent allowed to use skins outside of their teams colors. Im not sure if whether it was their league skins, that cost tokens or just a color change in game. I also dont think they were allowed skins in contenders/tourneys and it was customary in scrims as well. Probably changing now with OWCS, its a lot more lenient on the rules.

Wei's situation was in a competitive game which affected team standings and thus could have led to more winnings.

Skin shouldn't have any effect on the matcg in a game like this, but if he uses a certain skin in tournaments, it will be part of the visual identity of the team - tournament hosts certainly *do* care about ad revenue/sponsorships that they get some kickback from. If someone chose the wong skill and wanted to switch midgame to something that *will* increase their performance, that's when the line gets drawn.

People that don't know there are different animation cancels and sounds /animations each skin have. So if your used to using one skin it makes total sense. Pool party graves is a good example.. his auto attacks just feel better for some reason and I get tilted if I forgot to switch my skin..

In the skin moment, the case is definitely valid since it wasn’t the players mistake and some skins can even slightly change the gameplay(for example: a skin can change the way people see hit box or have abilities that are harder to notice) On the other case I don’t even think that player thought the request would be approved since was totally his fault, more like a desperation move

The smite thing can be easily solved. I play another mobas on mobile. When you're assigned jungle the system automatically selects your spell as smite. If u u don't have smite as jg with 15 seconda before the match starts the system gives u a pop up in champ select saying: "You're assigned role is jungle, would you like to select the recommend skill for the role"? And it ask you with yes or no and when u press yes it auto selects it if you didn't get it automatically from the start. If some random moba has that function i think lol shoulf have it too. Is not that hard.

thats crazy, in fgc tournaments, usually pausing(even accidentally) at anytime is a forfeit.

A skin won't change the outcome or game play, it might feel more appealing to the player but other than that the champion remains the same... Smite on the other hand changes the game entirely of u forget it so it seems valid they did what they did

It is more better than the tournament we played in. They let out opponent repick all their heroes to counter us. Sadly they delete that live video but the audience booing the entire production is satisfying. 😌

ok so I appreciate the difference between selecting a skin and having a different one when the game starts, maybe there are minute differences even in how readable the skills are and as a main of that charakter or whatever this would make a difference, and on the other hand straight up picking the wrong summoner skill. That the game wasn't remade is ok, but fining a months salary? That is insane, what bullshit contract would ever let that happen?

it is a valid reason cuz not havig the skin u desire can make u get destracted also the hitbox might be different and he is not used to it also one more possibe theorie is that he did not feel that comphterable woth the skin

Having the wrong summoner spell cause you are stupid is one thing. Having the wrong skin because the game didnt give you the correct one is something else. Cause even though it might not seem like it, some skins have visuals that make it harder to see spells or give you the wrong idea about a spells size.
