In 99% of my encounters with the Chennai cops, they've been very respectful and so have I. With that being said I've never yet been pulled over whilst riding. I've always wondered if they'd be a bit more hostile if they perceive riding with full gear as "racing" but it seems not - or perhaps you just caught them on a good day! =)

Brother: what that police officer said that was 100% correct, in that signal don't have the right hand signal, so as per traffic rule you can't suppose to take the U turn, even they not mounted the U turn board, I'm saying this in my experience, I having international license and I drive 400,000 kilometres in overseas and india nearly 200,000 kilometres. Note: The non U turn board suppose to place on that area but this is negligence of transport authority, they are the one who responsible for this. I shared my experience here, if you can accept you can or els you can leave it.

Long back I argued similar way in the Andhra Railway station. We almost beaten each other 😀 finally I given up and he also given up on penalty. Even I have ticket, he tried to bring some loop whole and asked money. Its 10 years back. Hope now things changed. I do experienced issues with traffic police, government offices.. but all those long back..thanks to internet and Internet services..
