Is the label accurate that you shouldn't tumble it dry? It's only 100% acrylic, so what's the big deal? Let's do a test and find out!!!

Love Big Twist. It is good to know that it is a good quality yarn. Thanks for sharing your view. I am now solely in love with this yarn. I got mine in Joann's Fabric and I mainly only use this brand now.

With my experience, crochet blankets of all varieties can be easily washed on cold. No harm there. But fair warning, acrylic yarn that is regularly washed and dried on low/medium heat over long periods of time becomes fragile. The fibers become weak and eventually break apart. So I suggest only drying it to the point of damp and then hang dry it to completion. This ensures longevity.

This makes me so happy! Thank you for this experiment! I had JUST bought ten skeins of this to make a blanket for my husband and made the mistake of reading reviews after purchasing instead of before. I find drying them is what softens them, so the thought of not being able to dry his blanket had me worried. Again, thanks so much!

Thank you for showing the dryer test on this yarn. I just purchased tons of this yarn and the big twist premium for accents on the crochet blankets I'm making for grand kids. I purchase the premium because of the colors I wanted but I am going to assume that it will come out the same. I totally agree with kids blankets and special laundry needs. No thank you. Haahaa. I couldn't figure out how it was ok to Iron on low or dry clean but not tumble dry. Your current project is gorgeous.

I rarely put any blanket in the dryer, always hang dry. Its energy saving for me. But on the rare occasion I do tumble dry, I always do low heat. But knowing I can toss them in the dryer or one of the kids don't catch it and toss it in, gives me comfort to know
@not2old2bcrafty9 ай бұрын
I would say, if it only needs 15 min., always do it for only 15 minutes. Maybe even 10 minutes could be enough. I think it is a good idea to find the shortest drying cycle. I have found some pilling when I dried it for 40 minutes.
