Johnny had a strange codependency with Ashley and it was a matter of time she would relapse, so his drug use was reasonable. Meth does exactly what it did to him irl. He was shown to be the backbone of the club so his deteoration would absolutely cause the club to fall apart, thus making their deaths and actions authentic. The lost was already weakened by being sooooo far from their home chapter, and you have to remember that outlaw bikers have a different mindset so when their pack leader is compromised, they fall apart.

The only two Lost Members alive are Angus and Dave (Although Dave was just a Prospect and hadn't been fully patched into the club during TLAD) Still think it's goofy that the Lost Would leave Liberty City and rather than go somewhere else on the East Coast (Where it's established that they have chapters) they instead go all the way to Los Santos, where the Angels of Death are meant to be.
