After surgical removal of the gall bladder, our body can no longer store the bile that is produced, so it continuously flows into the duodenum. As a result, there is not enough bile for proper digestion at mealtimes, so intestinal bacteria in the large intestine cause increased gas formation, bloating and possibly constipation or diarrhoea.
