Great ideas and another fantastic video! And after all, if you haven't died in Dungeons and Dragons you haven't fully experienced it! Even the sad moments makes it the best game!

Thank you so much!!!!!!!! Coming from my DM, that comment is a bit worrying but I can't disagree 🤣

Cooler DMs sometimes allow deities to bring characters back. There is also magic users with raise dead spells. Other times it's time to roll a new character.

When a DM faces character death, it should be described as a heroe's falling. We, as DMs, should allow the party to mourn their ally and possibly, give room for the replacement character, coming from the background of the fallen hero. Assuming the PC wants that legacy. Another option is resurrection. As a DM, I would make a quest to find the materials and/or the cleric to be able to resurrect the fallen hero. In that way the party more bound together as ever I think. Great video! Keep up the great work you are doing

Absolutely agree with all of that! It's a tough situation but it can create beautiful stories and strong relationships! Thank you so much for watching and for the beautiful comment!

Being a newbie, I was worried about this. Thank you for clarifying the options. I think it would be sad but now I can see it might add to the story line and in some ways enhance the overall story experience. Thank you

Awwww, thank you!!!!! It's always sad but indeed, knowing the options can at least make it a bit less scary 🤗 Hopefully it will never happen but it's good to be prepared just in case ❤️

1. Party has the spell. 1,000 gp diamond and the game moves on. No problem. 2. Shady Deal. I have done this. This can be fun or a bother. Do talk with players. 3. NPC/Side Quest. I have done this. But generally I had the NPC cleric do resurrection first before the side quest. 4. PC totally dead. I had all my players have Back up PCs. We generally did not worry about the reason the new PC was joining the group.

I actually love the idea of doing the resurrection before the quest so that the player doesn't have to switch characters!
