Ya, good luck on that one. Maybe a minute less with a long rest?

That's an incredible wood oven and cook. Wow, you never cease to amaze us.

What you need is a super-slo-motion camera to capture how epic that cook was. That was freaking awesome.

Al the two broilers I had would reach up to 800 degrees and Black and Blue 8 oz Fliet Mignon were on the menu. Great video 1000 degrees AWESOME ..

Totally ❤ watching your cooks, this one is sooo much fun😂. Your face was so red at the end. Questions?...from starting the fire to pulling the steak, how much time did it take?, and how much wood was used?

great education but how about a reverse sear option? I bet it would be epic to get it cooked up in a smoker and then seared with the butter and 1,000 fire. season after to avoid burning of course

Extremely cool idea! Or hot idea. You get it! :)

And now that it’s finished, definitely too long for me, but very interesting experiment I’ve got a 750g rump, I think it is, in the fridge, will get my smokefire running at 600, with 2 x 1:15 (it’s not anywhere near as thick as your steak), so should get a nice crust and be niiiice in the centre… will get my son to help with a little butter after the flip Pics will be taken - maybe some footage if possible

If you reverse seared it, it would probably be fantastic with that hard and fast of a sear. Lol

It would be interesting to try to make one medium rare that way!

I do it with prime ribs and beef tenderloins on my bge. Indirect cook it first. Then pull it, hold a leaf blower up to the intake vent and it’ll get up to 1000k real quick. I sear for less than a min a side though

Al, your face was so red after the cook! That’s a great way to make a steak if you need to eat in 5 min! Best part is, you don’t need to leave the steak out to warm up!
