I'm a Dumpster Diver and I save alot of clothing from Dollar Generals around. But I also save food that is not out of date. Supply alot of seniors with limited income with fresh fruit and vegetables along with snacks.

When I got caught picking in very rich neighborhood they gave me more. Lol. I couldn’t even take all they had. So I see you had the same experience. People can be so nice! We used to live in a pretty nice neighborhood and we got great stuff. But three years ago we moved out to the country so we just done get out to pick in the nice areas. But your making me want to go. I found a free stuff pile at the side of the road today. I only grabbed a little mirror and some pencils and other bits, but you never know what'll be there. If the lights or other metals don't work, you can always leave them out for the scrappers. That rug would land in my house...if I could be sure to keep the cat from barfing on it. Someone will want that. The fur coat looks like real rabbit fur; it's a style I remember from the 70s but it could have come around again.

I love trash picking. I have only had one bad experience with an older man wanting me to stay away. Most people realize that you are actually helping the environment. I have had several go back in and bring more stuff to me like matching chairs. We also like picking at our jobs. My husband worked for a factory and would bring on the scrap non woven fabrics. I used them an landscaping material in my extensive gardens. I also used other materials to make Halloween decorations like spider webs and ghosts. I worked for an elementary school and a new teacher cleaned out the old teacher's supplies and book collection. I filled my car to the brim and donated the majority to the local Boys and Girls club and the little libraries around town. I monitor houses that are for sale because the people moving out typically do a big purge. In my area a couple of towns have just 1 or 2 days a year that they will pick up anything outside of the trash can, aka bulk days. Those are a gold mine! I also check the local sanitation website to find out the pick up schedule for an area. I have found money in garbage many times. Just this past week someone put several dollars in change in a plastic sandwich bag in a pocket book. Another threw away the state quarter collection because it was water damaged, I just popped the coins out and used them. Some people are fools though. I picked up a box of college textbooks that were worth almost $300. In the box was their tax returns with all their info. I burned them but if I were a bad person I could have ruined them. Got to be careful what you throw out people.

I’m so glad that you are donating so much to a mental health charity. I’m in scotland and have worked in the mental health sector for 27 years. I hope you don’t mind me sharing this. 2 years ago this month my 32 year old nephew took his own life and last week my 60 year old husband attempted suicide. I’m so thankful I found him and was able to resuscitate him. We now know that he had been severely depressed since he was furloughed from work in March due to covid-19. It had obviously got too much for him. He is of a generation tho where men don’t speak about their feelings, so when asked he always said he was ok. I’m sharing all this because I never in a million years thought my husband would try to take his own life. It’s easy and wrong to stereotype suicide victims as young, mentally disturbed, homeless with substance misuse issues and with no support. My husband is 60, has a high up position in local government. We have children and grandchildren, own our own home and he has no issues with drug or alcohol misuse. He has had the odd bout of low mood and depression but nothing that would have made us think he was a suicide risk. Thank you for helping such a worthy cause.xx

Texan Picker thank you for the kind words. I was able to organise community psychiatric nurse support for my husband, they are on call so that’s eased my mind. I also spoke to our dr who has prescribed antidepressants and sleeping tablets for him. The combination of therapy and meds with family support will help prevent him getting so depressed again that he believes taking his own life is the only way to end his anguish. the lack of after care from the hospital though was so shocking. They patch them up physically then send them home. I’m glad I’m able to be here to help and support my husband but there are many suicidaly depressed people who have no one. It’s so sad that in this day and age that mental health is largely not spoken about, especially in men. Again thank you for all you do 🤗💕🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I think that stool you got that is flat on one side is a wobble stool for children who are fidgety to be able to actively listen. I have not seen one exactly like that. But there are quite a few different ones out there nowadays. Good job. Fun to watch you. Thanks for the videos.

That is a good idea you though of! Yes, light bulbs (like everything else) are not cheap anymore. Would be good to get those to use at home. I would get the lamps too because those sell fast every time I have a yard sale. I ask five dollars per lamp and people get them. People always need more lighting at their house.

Florida panhandle picker here! Y’all have some really good curb alerts! I love when ppl come out and offer more. Even better when they help load! I have a friend that also is a picker and she had someone call her out on marketplace saying how funny it was to see their curb alert listed, a table. My friend paired it with some chairs she had found at a different location. I’ve never had anyone yell at me. A lot of kindness out there ❤ keep up the hustle 😊

I had one person get mad at me on Facebook in a sales group. She threw away some furniture and I had it listed the next day 😂.
