I’m in my 50’s and my GF wanted to go through my phone. I declined and she broke up with me immediately. Oh well! This is someone I was never going to marry, never having kids with, never combining finances, never living together, etc. Phones are personal computers. So going through my bank accounts is ok? Going through all my emails is ok? Going through conversations I have with my three grown children is ok? Getting all my passwords is ok? Going through my ICloud is ok? Going through all my photos is ok? Would it be ok to have a conversation on a land line and the person you are with should be allowed to listen in on another phone? That is basically what snooping through your messages is. Denying someone going through your phone is about privacy, not necessarily that you are hiding having an affair. Don’t give in to the other persons insecurities. Their demands will escalate and never stop.
