Your surface isn't level, so you lost some of the effect, but they still turned out really cool. One tip is to use large thumb tacks and a level. Put the tacks (oversized is best) on all 4 corners of the underside. Then push or pull (or shim if necessary) the tacks until it's level in all directions. Thanks for doing the experiment!

34:30 OR...just make sure the surface itself is level? She has been doing resin work for quite a while, I'm sure she is quite aware of the surface needing to be level, but seeing as this was just an experiment, decided it wasn't necessary to make sure everything was dead level. It could also be the boards were not perfectly square, as the first one hardly moved.

The orange and white she first mixes with the pallet knife reminds me of orange creamsicle bars from the ice cream truck...in 1962..😁

Thank you for sharing this experiment. I'm starting to use silicone oil in my resin crafts and this helps a lot. Did you use oil no the paint spatula as well, or just mixed into each resin color batch? Also, how much oil did you add to each color, or the ratio?

Can the BASE be made with resin and an acrylic paint? Or must be with pigments?
@k.p.5066 Жыл бұрын
depends on the ingredients of the acrylic paint. not every acrylic paint harmonizes with resin. some of my acrylic paints made the resin clumpy and unusable. best way to colour resin is either with opaque or half opaque colour pigments, mica powders, glitter or food colourings to make your own color. for example white pigment paste can be created by yourself in mixing titandioxide powder into resin component (don't us hardener component for mixing own colours). and acrylics.. as I said, sometimes it works, sometimes don't. maybe you test some of them out.

I love this technique! If I wanted to do this on a tray, would I need to clean it up with an alcohol wipe first before I add the top clear resin coat? Or do you think it would be best to sand it?

blue pigments do leave specks of color in watercolors and pastels, try a different blue or a more expensive one.

Intro was waaay too loud so turned the volume down. Then can't hear you so turned volume way up. Then got blasted by heat gun and subsequent ads. Sorry have to move on, can't constantly be adjusting volume to accommodate your tiny voice.

Try using killz spray primer oil base on canvas to cut back on air flow going through canvas maybe even spray it from backside. Y’all make nice looking art but should be concerned about air bubbles!!!!!!!!!! Make it abstract but also flawless
