Ha! In one of the earlier scenes I thought, "Hmmm, that kind of looks like Cal State Long Beach," and then in a later scene I was positive that you guys were skating at CSUSB -- cool. Some spots on that campus are definitely ripe for some skateboarding. Actually, a lot of college campuses are nice for skateboarding. I just installed the Waterborne surf and rail adapters plus their in-house wheels on my 32" Penny board, but I haven't gotten around to trying them out this past weekend. It rained today, and on Sat. I biked from Whittier Narrows to Seal Beach and back on the San Gabriel River Trail, which looks like you skateboarded on in your video? Your set up sounds so sweet, and your larger wheels and upgraded bearings really add to the quiet and smoothness of your ride - nice! Thanks for the vid - liked and subscribed! We really love college campuses for skating and parkour. They really do make for some great spots. Thank you for subscribing. We are so excited every time we see a new sub! You are going to have a blast on your new set up. It took me a few weeks and miles to really feel like I was making use of the surf adaptor. I just now feel like I am getting the hang of it. But, it is such a fun time which makes it easier to pick up and practice. I am really looking forward to being able to surf the river trail walls soon. We are planning an update video for this skate set up. Let me know if you come across any great spots to skate with your board at and we'll go check it out!

Haha😅 I was a bit embarrassed working on this video knowing that people would see me mongo mashing out there on the inter-webs. But, I picked it up skating in my driveway back in '92. By the time I started getting called a poser for pushing mongo it felt like it was too late for me to start over. So I've kept it ever since. It would have been nice to have some other friends that skated with me back then, but it wasn't until '94 that I was around anyone who knew what they were doing. At the time TWS and Thrasher magazines at the supermarket didn't really have a lot of images of people pushing. I am so impressed that you watched long enough to pick up on it and had enough curiosity to ask!!! Thank you for watching!! And keeping me honest. I hope this video doesn't perpetuate the mongo mashing 😂

And a little bit sad to read that none of your friends skated with you :( Don't worry about it, if you feel comfortable with it, it is totally okay to mongo push. The problem is, that harder driving is even more hard if you drive mongo. :-)

There are some advantages when you can push mongo also. Keep pushing mongo. I switch pushing and it’s not only fun but also useful in different situations.

@@IntergalacticMotoBandits There is nothing wrong with Mongo pushing. On boards with a carvy front truck such as the Waterborne, it is the safer way to push. Longboarders do it all the time (Mongo pushing). Long distance skaters specifically requires conventional pushing and Mongo pushing to share the load of pushing.

Growing up skating I learned to ollie, manual, nose slide, grind and kickflip. This board set up would not be my first choice to pick up those skills again. But, If you have those tricks in your repatoire now with a Popsicle board than you could definitely manage them on this set up.
