Great question, and the answer is that you charge/"work it out" with the client for the $100-$200 for the rim rash. Typically insurance is not worth going through since it will be below the $250 threshold

I had a guest total my car today along with 2 other parties involved that had their vehicles totaled by the guest. I filed a claim through Turo, but when the other parties make a claim, and they contact my personal insurance since it was on the police report, do I speak to the parties insurance?

Make sure that you get the insurance information and have TURO reach out to each of them as it will all go through the commercial insurance with TURO. You will need to tell your insurance that another insurance will be taking over for this

@@realmikeshear Thank you for replying! Also from what it seems is that the renter was at fault. All 3 cars are at the tow yard and I was told by the towing company that I’d be responsible for all 3 vehicles storage fees. Anything I should do about that? Or just let Turo claims deal with it?

@Joe96423 TURO claims team, they will pay for the tow yard fees and then tow it to you or a local body shop for estimated. I will assume that it is totaled if all three are in there. Some tow yards are scam artist. I have only had one bad experience where they were over charging (eventually they lowered it and let me get my vehicle)

I would think so since it is dependent on MARKET Value of the vehicle. Since the market would pay more for it, then the payout would be more for it as well. Good question there

What would turo do if the customer burns your clutch !? Or blow ur engine would they help you with the repairs !? Also do they always cover %100 percent of the accidents?

Personally, I do not purchase vehicles with a manual transmission. People are people and most people I believe DONT drive well, much less shift and drive well at the same time. With that being said TURO (the insurance that they purchase for your ride) should pay for ALL of the work done if the transmission goes out. Typically they will give around 70-80% of the cost immediately to you with you having to prove with receipts the supplement cost that goes above what they paid you. This is the easiest part as you will have the autobody shop speak with the agent and they usually send the money right out within 3-5 business days. VERY SIMPLE! Unfortunately... it is never good to have your car out of commission, because you are not making money until it gets fixed and gets back on the road.

Great question. I use personal insurance because I have had USAA for 15+ years and the rates are amazing. Now, this would only come into play if something happend to the vehicle while it was in Mt hands or my teams hands. While it is on TURO Trips. Their commercial insurance pays for everything. You just need to make sure that you have GAP insurance and that the GAP insurance allows for commercial or business use vehicles.

Absolutely not, because they dont provide "commercial insurance". You need personal insurance for the time that you have it and it is not rented out. Lets say you have a team member going to get it washed, filled up, or taken to the airport for a trip and an accident occurs. That would be on you and not on TURO insurance since the accident happened ahead of the trip.@@AlwaysLoveBears

@NoFace8x if it is un-drivable now then it is obvious that it was the client. You need to make the claim VERY quickly. Take all the pictures you have now. After the claim you can then go and get an estimate at a shop for the real numbers.

Also, the CLIENT is liable for the "pre-trip" photos. Although this is a big lesson for you to NEVER miss the pre and post trip pictures.

If you have a cheaper car (say 5k) on the 90% plan, and the driver totals your car at fault. How are you compensated? Does Turo pay the $2500 (above the deductible) and you have to go after the renter?

They always let you choose which way to go. Do you go after the renter or after the insurance with TURO. The normal will be TURO insurance on a total loss. Now on the 90 plan, they will pay the "Market Value + Taxes" minus the deductible ($2500) So lets say that it is $5k market value, you will receive $2500 + taxes for the total loss. Although the process takes about 1 month to complete. It is sort of effortless. They send you a POA, you sign it and send it Fedex and you are done.

Bro this is a great video. Thank you. Quick question - would you say that Turo always pays you the amount needed for fixes? Like let’s say you have the 60% plan (so no deductible) and someone scratched the car on a pole. You take it to a shop and get told it will be $1000 for a repair. Will Turo pay that full $1000, or will they find a loophole or something in order to pay you less (perhaps $900). Now you’re stuck paying $100. Or is Turo insurance great and there won’t be any issues on this end?

Assuming the scratch is longer than 6 inches they will pay it in full. Usually as long as you have the quote they will pay for that quote.

Absolutely not, you will work out the total with TURO/TURO insurance and then any remainder will go through GAP. (Be praying that the market value on your vehicle is higher than the note). You can get paid out to go and purchase another one. The last thing that you want to do is cause your personal insurance to go up.

To add, make sure that you have all your receipts for any and all upgrades/repairs/new things that you did in the past year (new tires, new rims, interior add-ons) this will increase the market value. They are pretty quick with this, usually takes about 2 weeks to get the whole thing dealt with. If it is a cash car then you will get a check/payment directly to yourself.

NOPE. I don't want the money in my account. I pay for insurance everything should be taken care of by the insurer. Insurance company's love cutting checks because if repairs are over what was reimbursed then you are on your own.
