What HID Ballast is the best? Highest Quality? What to look for?

This is a non-edited cell video we did for a customer to show them the different HID ballasts and what to be careful about purchasing.
Chinese ballasts we would only recommend are:
Hylux ballasts. This being said there are many fakes of Hylux out there so only by the real Hylux ballasts. Xenonsplus Premium are Genuine Hylux ballasts. You can probably ebay "hylux hid ballast" or "xe+ premium hid" for the xenonsplus premium series.
Korean HID systems are good as well.
There are Korean companies that take Korean HID ballasts and Korean HID bulbs and will put it together to make one kit. They sell under Kaixen, Starc, KDG, interpower, and for a minimum order quantity of 500 kits you could have them design your own logo.
This is what GP Thunder did to introduce Korean kits. They have a GP Thunder Korean HID kit. NOT ALL GP THUNDER HID KITS ARE MADE IN KOREA!

It's common for someone to argue that there cheap kits lasts "x" amount of years, but if you talk to a professional in the lighting industry you will notice that they stay away from those cheap made products for a reason. 1 guy with 1 bad kit that runs it for 10 mins a night will probably last longer than 1 guy that runs his lights for 1 hour every night We field test all HID systems and those systems that still run after over 2000 hours are usually Korean Made HID or Xenonsplus aftermarket HID

Hey Sam, I have plenty of exp with HID, been using them for more then 15 years. Just a tidbit, I have spend hundred on all type of light. From expensive to dirt cheap. But I can tell you one thing. Chinese/Asian made HID over the years have improved tremendously. While expensive kit is the same as it was 9-10 years ago.

DDM tuning Raptor version 2 or 3, whichever was the latest version before they stopped selling the Raptor ballasts, they are full metal chassis. The 55w ones I've had for years and I always drive with my headlights on, 100% reliable. Must be outputting something above 45w so I'm happy.A lot of times 55w ballasts aren't truly 55 watts but that's ok

I rolled the dice as well and went with VVME through ebay. I purchased the 35 standard bixenon HID kit 10k bulbs (changing to 8k). For $60 shipped, not bad. Moral to the story is that when the VVME package arrived, one ballast was a lil dented from the outside. As I assumed upon installation that one ballast did not work.

I get a hid kit at hid nation and it beam problems after problems sometime it turn off by it self and sometimes I have to play with the switch on and off can you help and tell me here can I get does hid gp thunder

Suggestion. Try to use another video stabilization method, or don't stabilize it at all to avoid too much cropping. ;)

IDK i have had that slim DC kit you showed at the beginning on my truck my brothers and sisters car for close to 4 years and no problems they go out cause people dont know how to take care of them they turn them on/off frequently or turn their vehicle on while the kit is on this messes them up from time to time.

Hands down thee best kit is innovited period I've installed many over the years pretty much trouble free I always get 55w 5k opt 7 are good also but after a year or so 1 ballast will always go bad but the company will send you a complete kit for 1 side

I was deciding between all 3 of those kits. After researching ddm was a bad choice since their customer support was bad. (lifetime warranty means nothing if you can't contact the company) So VVME or OPT7. OPT 7 I could not really find a whole lot of information on. VVME makes their ballasts fairly well and they are AC. The light output is a little whiter than it would normally be, so 5000k looks 4300k. I am running VVME right now and couldn't be happier.

They shipped everything and got everything today monday. I havent installed the ballast yet since my girl took the car to work but as soon as she gets here , Im on it. I hope the new ballast works man. Other than their shitty customer service, their product is legit.

I immedialy started the warranty process with their customer service. First , these people use the english translation key to write back to you. Tried calling them and I can understand a preschooler more than their reps. 2 Tried to extort me on revising my negative feedback to positive on ebay so they can go abead and ship the warrantied ballast and bulb. A week later after that minor headache I recieved my ballast and bulb.

yes i had xentec in two vehicles and my lawn mower lol yes my mower had 8K hids and yes the are crap extremely crappy i had to replace a ballast after one month...i just ended up keeping the bulbs and switching to better ballast

Keep note Dennis that older versions of hylux do not have that window and that not all hylux ballasts have the t-window that you are talking about. However, you can open the ballast case and you will see hylux markings on the inside of the ballast. Instead of using the chargeback, just contact the seller that you want a refund and send the merchandise back, they are more likely to help you to keep a customer. But if you keep the merchandise, and file a charge back this steals the money and merchandise from the seller and they don't want that so they would be happy to help before all that is done. We have never sold fake hylux ballasts before, all come direct from hylux manufacturer, but not all ballasts have the t-window.

Further, Halogen use heat as a source of light as opposed to emit light when a gas is excited, by this nature of heating and cooling it wear down the coil. The brighter (hotter) the halogen the shorter its life span. In HID the gas will stay the same over years it does break down, but the process is very slow. So HID (bulb)get dimmer over time. facts is HID by its own nature is just more reliable than Halogen. I dare say it is the best investment you will ever put inside your car.

I am NOT sure I agree with what you are saying, I do NOT meant to disrespect, but in all three of my vehicles, I have kits I bout in a swap meet in Montclair California at $40 per kit, over 2 years ago and I haven't had a single issue with any of the three kits.

Thank you. When you buy items at other facilities that are known to sell below retail, there is a chance that you bought good items for a small fee. On the other hand, if you have to replace your alternator soon, it may have been the cause of those kits. With 15 years in experience, we have seen crazy things.

Original HYLUX Ballasts are the best. Care to counterfeit products. DLT Fast bright F3, F5 are good tho

Dude, to make a comparison you have to take out the silicon out and compare electronics of the ballasts or at least connect them to a power supply and a bulb and see the differences between absorbed input current, output voltage, current ramp-up, bulb light intensity. What you did is just an advertising of the 50W ballast! Bleah!

+valiches It's an infomercial in "bad disguise" linking directly to their website selling alternative advertised goods; now make sure to call the telephone number and ask for support and see if one can actually get through to customer service support and be sure to actually check to see if they speak in complete understandable english sentences!! Valiches one can measure current and/or current using ones clamp-on ammeter to be able to tell one all this important information naturally of course; apparently one cannot have the customer being to aware and informed prior to purchasing ones Hid goods!!

i think me my friend and my entire family n their family is lucky cuz no HId ballast or bulb has ever fail on us. Those thing are so dam reliable. Halogen suck so bad.Those Silvana silverstar are nothing but high price garbage, they burn out in 3 month, costing me hundred every years on headlight.
