What I Bill As A Mobile Dental Hygienist

Hi! So it is legal in Canada to bill for a dental exam if we are hygienists? I thought you had to be a dentist to bill for an exam because we can't diagnose caries?

We bill a dental hygiene exam. We would do all assessments (perio, gingival, etc), take intra oral photos and then refer them to a dds

One more question - is a New Patient dental exam in a dental office (with a dentist who can diagnose caries) a different code from a New Patient dental hygiene exam?

You would need to do this in person, to attend clinicals , etc . Great question though!
